6、h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise spe cified. Procedure Sampling Method Using Monitor After installation of the quick release valves to draw off the fluid, the following procedure shall be used: 1. The pressure on the hydraulic fluid to be filtered through the

7、monitor shall not exceed 800 kN/m 2 2. The sampler is screwed off and the cover caps removed from the monitor and kept for later refitting. Then, the monitor is fitted to the lower part of the sampler with the surface where the filter is applied. 3. Sampler is tightly rescrewed and connection is mad

8、e between bypass tube from the 3 - way valve to one of the openings located on the side of the sampler. 4. Direct coupling is made from sampler to a 200 mL measuring bottle graduated at 100 mL and 200 mL. 5. Remove caps from quick release valve and sampling tubing, with the 3 - way valve in the “shu

9、t off“ position. The quick release device is pressed and the sampling tube tightly inserted into the valve. Then release the quick release device. 6. Turn the 3 -way valve to “flush“ position; a llow 100 mL fluid to flush the bypass tube, the sampling cock, the tube and the 3 - way valve. 7. Fill th

10、e measuring bottle up to the 100 mL mark with hydraulic fluid, turn 3 - way valve to “test“ position. Allow 100 mL fluid to pass the filter and to flow into the measuring bottle. 11、lobal Technologies, Inc. 8. Press quick release device, remove sampler and refit the tightening caps. 9. Disconnect the bypass tube from the side of the sampler; screw off sampler and draw out monitor, holding the monitor in a vertical position. A syringe is inserted through the bottom opening of th

12、e monitor drawing all residual hydraulic fluid through the filter. Protection caps are relocated and the monitor passed to the laboratory for evaluation. It must b e provided with accurate identification data. Filter Preparation Preparation must be carried out in a still clean area. 1. It must be en

13、sured that the hydraulic oil on the millipore filter inside the monitor is extracted through the filter with a syring e. 2. Attach a filter to dispenser bottle and fill bottle with A.R. quality petroleum ether. Renew the filter with every bottle filling. 3. Fill monitor 3 times with A.R. petroleum e

14、ither taken from the dispenser bottle and extract petroleum ether from the monitor using the syringe. 4. Clean microscope slides by spraying with petroleum ether, polish with lens tissue, then respray. 5. Remove filter from the monitor with the clean forceps. 6. Place filter on one side of the large

15、r size microscope slides , i.e. on the side of the slide that was placed downwards. Immediately apply 5 drops of immersion oil to the filter. Place smaller microscope slide over the filter such that the face that has been in a downward position is in contact with the filter. Cl amp the microscope sl

16、ides in bulldog clips. Squeeze out entrapped air by applying gentle pressure with the forceps onto the smaller slide. 7. Flush again with petroleum ether to remove traces of the forceps pressure. Particle Count Place prepared filte r on microscope cross slide. Select the appropriate lens system to d

17、etermine particle size. A. Magnification 50X; count particles of the following size over the entire filter area. 1. Particles 50 micrometre to 100 micrometre. 2. Particles over 100 mic rometre. 3. Free fibres (particles larger than 100 micrometre, and length to width ratio greater than 10:1). FORD L
