SCOPE The material defined by this specification applies to steel strip, sheet or coil which has been aluminum clad both sides by rolling aluminum strip or sheet onto mild steel. The composite material is suitable fo

3、r subsequent pressing operations. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for components where an aluminum surface is desired but an anodised finish is not a requirement. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and par

4、t producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION The aluminum cladding shall be based on 99.5 % min purity with a silicon addition of 0.60 - 0.80 %, and the following maximum impurities Copper 0.05 % Iron 0.40 % Mangan

5、ese 0.05 % Zinc 0.10 % The chemical composition of the steel shall conform to Carbon,max 0.15 % Manganese,max 0.60 % Sulphur, max 0.06 % Phosphorus 0.06 % ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION S-M1A1028-A Page 2 of 2 Copyright 2009, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. 3.3 ALUMINUM THICKNESS This is expresse

6、d as a percentage of the total thickness, of steel plus aluminum, to be applied each side and this shall be specified on the Engineering Drawing. 3.4 SURFACE FINISH The types of finish obtainable are a) Normal surface as manufactured both sides b) One or both sides polished. c) One or both sides sat

7、in matt. The finish required must be specified on the Engineering Drawing. 3.5 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The aluminum cladding shall be firmly and continuously bonded to the steel. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements

8、of the specification. This material was based upon Feran aluminum clad steel which normally consists of 6 % aluminum but other percentages may be obtained providing the quantity can warrant their manufacture. Feran is marketed in Germany by Wickeder Eisen und Stahlwerk G.m.b.H. Wickede - Ruhr and the U.K. organization is Feran Steel Ltd., Bromley,Kent.
