2、f 3 INSULATING TUBE, HEAT RESISTANT SJ-M99D9720-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an insulating tube consisting of a braided or knitted glass fiber hose with a silicon rubber coating. 2. APPLICATION The material was originally released as insulati

3、ng tube for the wire branch to the alternator and/or as specified on the Engineering Drawing. 3. REQUIREMENTS Note: The material shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity prior to test and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 3.0

4、 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 FINISHED PART REQUIREMENTS 3.1.1 Color Black or as specified on the Engineering Drawing 3.1.2 Dimensions 3.1.2.1 Ins

5、ide Diameter 10 +/- 0.5 mm Or as specified on the Engineering Drawing 3.1.2.2 Nominal Wall Thickness 0.9 +/- 0.1 mm Or as specified on the Engineering Drawing 3.1.3 Surface Quality The surface shall be free from blisters, pores or other surface failures. 3.1.4 Heat Ageing No shrinkage The finished p

6、art shall show no change in appearance or other defects when compared with the original unaged part. Test Method: Place a section of hose approx 300 mm in length in a mechanical convection oven for 7 days at 150 +/- 2 C. Examine after cooling to room temperature. Test Method: FLTM BO 151-01 at -40 +/- 1 C, except use a steel ball with a weight

8、-force of 2.21 N and 38 +/-1 mm in diameter. 3.1.6 Resistance to Oil After test, the finished part shall not show any cracks or other surface failures. Test Method: Immerse a separate section of hose each for 24 h in ASTM Oil No. 1 and ASTM Oil No. 3 according to ASTM D 471 at 23 +/- 2 C. Remove sec

9、tions of hose from the solution and wash with warm water. Bend specimen 3.14 rad (180) upon itself and examine in bent condition. 3.1.7 Resistance to Petrol After test, the finished part shall not show any cracks or other surface failures. Test Method: Immerse a section of hose in ASTM Fuel B accord

10、ing to ASTM D 471 at room temperature for 5 minutes. Remove and let dry for 5 minutes at room temperature. Repeat this cycle 4 times. Place the specimen for 30 minutes at room temperature after the 4th cycle, then bend specimen 3.14 rad (180) upon itself and examine in bent condition. 3.1.8 Resistan

11、ce to Engine Cleaners After test, the finished part shall not show any cracks or other surface failures. Test Method: Immerse a section of hose for 30 minutes in the engine cleaner according to Ford code 1442008 at 23 +/- 2 C. Remove a section of hose from the solution and wash with warm water. Bend

12、 specimen 3.14 rad (180) upon itself and examine in bent condition. 3.1.9 Resistance to Brake Fluid After test, the finished part shall not show any cracks or other surface failures. Test Method: Immerse a section of hose for 2 h in a solution of brake fluid according to Ford specification SA-M6C910

13、1-A at 23 +/- 2 C. Remove section of hose from the test solution and wash with warm water. Bend specimen 3.14 rad (180) upon itself and examine in bent condition. Note: This test is only applicable if specified on Engineering Drawing. 3.1.10 Resistance to Battery Acid After test, the finished part s

14、hall not show any cracks or other surface failures. 15、- 2 C. Remove section of hose from the test solution and wash with warm water. Bend specimen 3.14 rad (180) upon itself and examine in bent condition. Note: This test is only applicable if specified on Engineering Drawing. 3.1.11 Tensile Strength of Insulating Tube A full size hose, 150 mm in length

16、 shall be tested at a test speed of 100 mm/minute. a) Original, min 15 N/mm b) After Heat Ageing, max 15% change of original value 7 days at 150 +/-2 C in a mechanical convection oven. Note: This test is only applicable if specified on Engineering Drawing. 3.2 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Specific requirem

17、ents for the finished part if required, shall be as specified on the Engineering Drawing. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION Base Material Requirements. 5.1 Braided Sleeving 100 braiding, approx. 28 trimming/27 mm Yarn Size 68 x 2 tex, approx 150 turn/m Silicon Coating Silicon rubber to SAE J200, type 4GE607 5.2 Knitted Sleeving 37 needles, 100 stitches Yarn Size 34 x 1 tex Weight of Coated Sleeving 30 g/m
