2、RAYABLE, SK-M4G9524-A SOLVENT RELEASE NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a solvent release, airless sprayable vinyl based on heat curing sealer. 2. APPLICATION This material was originally released for the sealing of interior and exterior joints. It
3、is applied on EC-coated surfaces using airless spray equipment or tube gun. Prior to the release for a particular application and in addition to the requirements specified herein, full evaluation under actual production conditions must be ensured by affected Component Engineering activity. 3. REQUIR
4、EMENTS Note: Unless otherwise specified, use test panels EC-coated according to FLTM EU-BI 20-1, C. The material must be applied on the EC-coated test panel 30 minutes after oven curing. 3.1 COLOR Beige - light grey or as specified on Engineering drawing 3.2 FLASH POINT Over 100 C (ASTM D 93, Method
5、 A) Note: In case testing at higher temperatures is not feasible because of gelling of test material, the supplier must certify in writing that each separate volatile ingredient has a flash point over 100 C. 3.3 SOLIDS, min 96 % (FLTM EU-BV 50-10) 3.4 ASH, max 45 % (FLTM EU-BV 50-10) 3.5 DENSITY at

Test Method: 1) Coat 300 x 100 x 0.8 - 0.9 mm test panels, prepared according to clause 3, note, in such a manner that after the a) minimum curing cycle b) max curing cycle according to FLTM EU-BV 50-5, Table 2 (use separate specimens for each curing cycle) a dry coating thickness of 2
12、.0 mm, beginning at one edge of the test panel and tapering to zero at the other, is obtained. 2) After 24 hours at 23 +/- 2 C, make two cuts through the coating along the 300 mm length of the test panel and 30 mm apart and try to peel off coating starting at the edge with the lowest film thickness.
13、 3.12 WATER ABSORPTION, max 2 % (FLTM EU-BV 53-7) 3.13 COMPATIBILITY WITH PRODUCTION PAINTS No tackiness of material surface, no cracking or blistering. The paint shall cover the sealer satisfactorily without evidence of discoloration or staining. 3.13.1 Wetability and Staining Test Method: 1) Speci
14、men preparation according to FLTM EU-BV 53-8, Method A, clause 1 to 3 and following 3 variants: a) except template 30 x 2 mm. b) except template 30 x 2 mm and without spray primer application. c) except material application in 30 mm width and at one edge of specimen 2 mm thick tapering to zero at th

After 24 hours at room temperature, mask one half of the sealer beads types a) to c) and expose each assembly for
16、 240 hours (1) at room temperature, (2) at 40 +/- 2 C, (3) in the Fluorescent Sunlamp Cabinet (FLTM EU-BU 52-2). Examine the exposed and unexposed portions of the sealer in steps of 24 hours. 3.13.2 Resistance to Weathering Test Method: 1) Specimens preparation according to 3.13.1. a) - c). 2) Expos
17、e test specimens in the Miami, Florida area for 6 months and 1 year at 5 deg to the south. 3) Prior to examination, clean specimens using soap (S-M1B4) and water. 3.14 SHORE HARDNESS “A“ 40 - 80 Test Method: Apply enough material to a test panel of 300 x 100 x 0.8 - 0.9 mm, prepared according to cla
18、use 3, note, and scrape to a dimension of 30 x 5 mm thickness. Condition for 10 minutes at room temperature and expose in a mechanical convection oven at a temperature of 165 +/- 2 C for 30 minutes. Condition for four hours at room temperature and check the Shore Hardness according to ASTM D 2240. 3
19、.15 ABRASIVES The material shall contain no abrasive agents. Test Method: Dilute a one gram sample of material with one gram special white spirit (60/140) and mix thoroughly. Rub a portion of the diluted material 10 times between two pieces of flat, clean plate glass. The appearance of scratches on
20、the glass plate will be considered failure. 3.16 SPRAYABILITY The material shall be a smooth homogeneous mixture, free from foreign material and suitable for use in airless spray equipment. It shall spray evenly and rapidly with no tip clogging or fluctuations in the spray pattern and with a minimum
21、 spray back and fogging. 25、ements of Ford Quality System Standard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as described therein is required for material/source approval. Prior to making any change in the properties, composition, construction
27、, color, processing or labeling of the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the propo
28、sed changes and obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictio
29、ns are defined in Engineering Materials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of inter
30、est from the affected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrati
31、ng full compliance with all the requirements of this specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on its performance to this specification and on an assessmen
32、t of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 STORAGE STABILITY (From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company) Minimum 6 months when stored between 5 C and 28 C.
