2、y this specification is a repair primer. Thematerial should be so formulate d as to obtain the ultimate in leveling andmaximum hold out properties after baking of the enamel. The material shallbe suitable for pneumatic and electrostatic spray application.2. APPLICATIONIn general the material is used

3、 for repair on interior and exteriorsurfaces if the primer and/or e namel coat including the metallic basecoat/clearc oat system is sanded through or cut through by mechanical damage tothe bare metal. The material must be of baking quality.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 COMPOSITION3.1.1 Vehicle Synthetic Resin3

4、.1.2 Non-Volatile(FLTM EU-BI 2-1)According to approved initial sample report +/- 1 %.3.1.3 PigmentInert pi gments and fillers to obtain the desired color andsanding properties.3.1.4 CompatibilityTh e material shall be compatible with xylene S-M14J245-A,thinner SK-M14H9556-A or equivalent.3.1.5 Toxic

5、ityConte nts of toxic components, e.g. benzene, chlorinatedhyd rocarbons, lead compounds etc., shall conform to thesafety regulations currently prevailing in the plant and/orcountry where the material shall be used. 7、able to the plant and/or country where the materialshall be used.3.2.4 Storage Stability(FLTM EU-BI 2-3)During a storage of 3 months at room temperature, the materialas received shall not gel or liver upon standing. An increaseof the viscosity of more than 15 seconds is not permitted.3.3 PREPARATION

8、 OF TEST PANELS3.3.1 SubstrateZinc phosphated Ford Standard Test Panels according toUMA 18003.3.3.2 Primer and EnamelAccordi ng to FLTM EU-BI 3-2, Method B,b, but with thefollowing deviation:Test panels primed with electrocoat primer S-M64J4C orequivalent, plus primer surfacer SK-M6J9556-A or equiva

11、r basecoat/clearcoatS-M32J110-A/111-A silver metallic wet-in-wet, dry filmthick ness 50 - 55 micrometre, baking cycle according tomaterial specifications.Note: Use SM-32J110-A/E white for tests according tosections 3.5.2, 3.6.1, 3.6.2, 3.6.4 and S-M32J100-A/E blackfor the test according to 3.6.3. 12、 addition usebasecoat/clearcoat S-M3 2J110-A/111-A silver metallic for alltests.3.3.3 AgeingPanels shall be aged 16 hours at 45 C or 72 hours at roomtemperature prior to testing.3.4 APPEARANCE3.4.1 LevelingIn connection with enamel the spray primer film shall levelwith a minimum orange peel effect.3

13、.4.2 Hold OutThere shall be no evidence of dulling or strike in ordi fference in gloss when enamel is applied to sanded oruns anded spray primer. After exposure panels shall exhibitneither blistering, peeling more than 4 mm rust creepage fromthe scribed lines, nor film breakdown due to defects causedby the spray primer.3.7 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll mater

17、ials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification

18、, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t

19、 est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasin

21、g, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the r

22、equirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.
