SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a molded mildew resistantlaminate consisting of synthetic fiber needled felt, polythene sheetingand non-woven fiber padding bonded with synthetic resins.2. APPLICATIONThis par
3、t is used as a sound absorption pad in the passenger compartmentsuch as e.g. insulation pad instrument panel lower and/or as specifiedon the Engineering Drawing.3. REQUIREMENTSThe material shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h at a temperatureof 20 +/- 2 C and a relative humidity of 65 +/- 3 %
4、prior to test.3.1 CONSTRUCTIONThe material co nsists of a mildew resistant synthetic fiberneedled felt as top layer, a polythene sheeting and a non-wovenfiber padding consisting of natural and/or synthetic fibers bondedwith synthetic resins. The individual layers are laminated byheat and pressure in

9、g thelatter.3.8 HEAT STABILITYThe finished part shall show no evidence of delamin ation, novisible shrinkage or distortion respectively, it shall not warp toan extent that would affect its use in ultimate assembly.Furthermore, it shall show no change in appearance when comparedwith the original unag
10、ed part.Test Method: The finished part or a representative section of thepart shall be mounted as in the vehicle and subjected to atemperature of 90 +/- 2 C in a mechanically convected air-dry ovenfor 3 hours. The odor test shall be inaccordance with FLTM BO 131-01, maximum Rating 2.Test Method: Place a 100 x 100 mm sample of material soaked withdistilled water in a beaker glass of 1 litre capacity
14、and covertightly with a lid. Maintain at a temperature of 35 +/- 2 C for14 days. 17、urn rate of 75 mm per minute as specified by theFlammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 24-2, mustbe evaluated for permanency of the materials flameretardant properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1according to the accelerated environmental ageingrequirements applicable to the basic material categ
18、oryof this particular specification.Any material, portions of components, and compositesdefined by this specification that have been treated,modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability LotSampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 24-2, regardless of maximumburn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency
19、ofmaterials flame retardant properties and changes inmechanical, chemical and physical properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 applicable to the basic materialcategory of this particular specification.3.13 SURFACE RESISTANCEMaximum 0.03 g increase in weight.Test Method:1) Cut a 300 x 30 mm piece (in n
20、ominal thickness accordingto Engineering drawing) from the molded part under test.2) Weigh an approx 700 x 16 mm strip of hook tape accordingto SK-M3G9512-A, nearest to 0.01 g.3) Apply hook tape, hook of tape facing to the needled flatsurface of the finished part to an area of nominalthickness.4) Pr

Itshall not cause excessive soiling of handlers in normal productionuse.3.15 SUBSTANCE CONTROLLegal, health, safety and environmental constraints may ap
23、ply tothe materials which are submitted for approval to thisspecification. Refer to Engineering Material Specification SK-M99P9999-A.3.16 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inall characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally gr
24、anted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing
25、, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposedchanges and obtain the written approval of the MaterialsEngineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new codeidentification are to be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or For

APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMa terials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring appro
27、valof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and
28、authorized representative of the test facility,demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of thisspecification (test results, not nominal values), the materialdesignation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation.Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on it
29、sperformance to this specification and on an assessment of suitabilityfor intended processes and/or applications.
