MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS (ACCORDING TO THE MOST CURRENT ANSI STANDARDA10.8):2.1 SIDE RAILS: Clear straight-grained spruce or materials ofequivalent strength and durability.2.2 RUNGS: Straight-grained oak, ash, or hickory, at least 1-1/8 inches(29mm) in diameter.2.3 FLOORING: Clear fir.

CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS:3.1 SIDE RAIL: The side rail of the horizontal supporting ladder shallbe tied together with metal tie rods not less than 1/4 inch (6mm) indiameter passing through the side rails and riveted up tight againstwashers on both ends.3.2 RUNGS: The rungs shall not be less than

4、1-1/8 inches (29mm) indiameter with tenons mortised into 7/8 inch (22mm) holes, drilledwith centers 1-1/2 inches (38mm) from top of side rail. Tenons areto extend through side rails with end of tenons flushed to outsidesurface of the side rail. Rungs are to be pinned through the tenonswith one finis

5、hing nail to secure them to the side rail. Rungsshall be placed 12 inches (305mm) on center. The rungs shall beheld in place with 3/8 inch (10mm) steel tie rods. The tie rodsshall be placed parallel to the rungs passing through the side railsand drawn up tight against washers with nuts. The tie rods

6、 shall belocated not more than 5 feet (1.52m) apart.3.3 FLOORING: The flooring strips shall be spaced not more than 5/8inch (16mm) apart and shall be of continuous uninterrupted length.Nonskid strip mats may be secured to the flooring strips.3.4 PLATFORM: The platform shall be afforded guardrail pro

7、tectioncommensurate with Company and OSHA requirements. A Company approvedlife safety belt can be worn.3.5 SURFACE COATING: The entire assembly shall be coated with a waterrepellent wood preservative.
