SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are liquid distillate hydrocarbon fuels suitable for use in certain gasoline engines. 2. APPLICATION These specificati

3、ons were released originally for materials used as initial fill fuels for vehicles designed for regular and premium grade gasoline. Regular Grade Gasoline SS-M4C9100-A Premium Grade Gasoline SS-M4C9100-B SS-M4C9100-A may also be used for Gasoline Engine Hot Test. When used as such in locations where

4、 a proportion of engines may be shipped or stored for periods in excess of 6 months before use, an oxidation stability of 600 minutes min. is required. In these circumstances, Anti-Oxidant SS-M99C9103-A, must be added in-plant in the following proportion: Anti-Oxidant 44 ml per 1000 litres (200 ml p

5、er 1000 UK galls) 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The fuel shall meet all the requirements of B.S. 4040 (for

6、 UK use) and DIN 51600 (for Germany) or be an Engineering approved equivalent grade of fuel in countries where neither of these standards are applicable. 3.2 RESEARCH OCTANE NUMBER (R.O.N.) GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of these specifications. 5.1 FLAMMABILITY This material represents a potential fire hazard, and Plant Security

9、, Medical and Safety Units must be notified of its presence in the Plant to ensure that proper precautions are adopted. The location in which it is to be used and stored must be included in the notification. Areas where this material is to be stored and used shall be clearly marked by signs in accor

10、dance with Manufacturing Standard U-SN001. 5.2 TOXICITY AND ODOR Unless specific exemption is granted, materials supplied to the Company shall not contain ingredients deemed harmful to the operator, to the equipment or to the work being processed. The material shall be free from objectionable odor,

11、and shall remain so during normal periods of storage and use. 5.3 ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL The supplier shall divulge to the company the identity or nature of any ingredient or constituent of their products which is capable of causing pollution of water, air or soil, and/or which is subject to special

12、notification or control under the laws or regulations in force at the locations in which it is to be used or disposed. In addition, the supplier shall, in appropriate cases, make available to the Company details of treatment methods that will enable used or surplus material to be broken down satisfa

13、ctorily for disposal through effluent plants. 5.4 SEASONAL DEFINITION Winter grade fuel would normally be used from November to March inclusive. Summer grade fuel would normally be used from April to October inclusive. 5.5 ALTERNATIVE GASOLINE STANDARDS Where a National Gasoline Standard exists with requirements within the limits of those detailed in paragraph 3.0, the national requirements shall replace those in paragraph 3.0.
