SCOPE. This specification covers the material and performance requirements of the following type ofweld
2、 nuts: ISO metric coarse threaded nuts M5 to M14 inclusive. Nuts of the same blank design as above but with a plain unthreaded hole suitable for the assembly of athread rolling screws as defined in WD 951 or WD 952. ISO metric coarse threaded nuts M8 to M14 inclusive with a prevailing torque feature

REFERENCES.WE 950 - Prevailing torque type steel hexagon nuts and hexagon flange nuts -Mechanical and performance properties.WSB-M1A250-C3 - Steel, sheet, zinc, zinc/iron and zinc alloy coated.WSD-M1A283-B1 to B49 - Steel, cross reference for standard parts.WSK-M4D671-A
4、 - Polyamide (PA) 46, Heat Stabilized Molding Compound3. MATERIAL. All weld nuts shall be steel in accordance with WSD-M1A283-B1,B2,B3,B4,B47, B48 orB49. The insert shall be plastic in accordance with WSK-M4D671-A or a plastic material that willachieve the requirements of WE 950 after being subjecte
5、d to the body paint processes currently used inFord plants worldwide.4. PERFORMANCE. For initial sample approval and for referee purposes in cases of dispute the followingperformance tests shall apply.4.1 PROOF LOAD. After welding the nut shall meet the Proof Load test in WE 950 Clause 6.1 for thepr
6、operty class specified.4.2 WELD INTEGRITY. After detaching the weld nut from the test panel, defined in Clause 5, by anymethod (i.e., pull-off, push-off, peel-off, chisel-off), the weld area shall show that the detached nuthas pulled a slug of the test plate material out of the test plate at all wel
7、d projection points.4.3 PREVAILING TORQUE (Plastic Insert Nuts). The prevailing torques, 1s t off and 5th offperformance of prevailing torque nuts shall be in accordance with WE 950.4.4 THREAD CONDITION. After welding the nut must be able to accept an ISO metric 6H toleranceclass GO gauge.5. TEST PANEL. The test panel shall be zinc coated steel in accordance with WSB-M1A250-C3 Grade98G98G-HD. The thickness shall be 1.5mm for testing nuts M10 and larger and 1mm for testing nutssmaller than M10.
