2、ATERIAL BY WEIGHT, 980 g/m2 1. SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are needled, nonwoven polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers, with a blend of virgin and recycled fibers. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for acoustic under-engine shields, acoustic under

3、body aero/NVH shields, and acoustic wheel arch/well liners. 2.1 LIMITATIONS These materials are not to be considered for use on Class A surfaces. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List

4、 (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values are based on material conditioned

5、 for not less than 24 h prior to testing in a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Testing of the material should occur in the conditioning environment or soon after removal. 3.3 PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 3.3.1 In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item a

6、coustic underbody shields and wheel arch liners shall be tested to WSS-M99P32-E2/E3/E4/E5 (or latest) and any additional SDS requirements. The details for each of the suppliers specific construction shall be documented in the supplement attached and uploaded into the scanned data package. 3.3.2 Recy

7、cled Content This specification must contain 25% minimum recycled content as defined by WRS-M99P42-A2 (Textile Materials, Identification of Recycled Content). 8、ons shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior to any subsequent operations, such as reheating or molding. 3.5 APPEARANCE Color shall be dark grey or black for all Wheel Arch / Wheel Well Liners (E2/E3) visible surfaces. White is not preferred for other components, a d

9、ark heather color is acceptable. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 DRAWING CALL OUT The following shall be called out on the Engineering drawing to correctly designate the

WRS-M3H207-A1 Supplier Name and Product Code (As it appears on the Approved Source Listing) WSS-M99P32-E2/E3/E4/E5 (latest) 4.2 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Deve

18、lopment, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples mu

19、st be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.3 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials

20、must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affect

21、ed Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested t

22、o the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.4 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addr

23、essed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly.
