2、ce requirements for an adhesive oran adhesive system for bonding glass to liner and liner to shell inexterior rear view mirror assembly.2. APPLICATIONThi s specification was released originally for adhesives used to bondglass, plastic, stainless steel, and phosphated galvanized steel.Compl iance wit

3、h this performance specification does not guarantee theadhesiv e will function for all potential applications on a vehicle. Thespe cific assembly should be evaluated to design engineering performancerequirements.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of For

4、d Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AN

5、D/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated ma

6、terial laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on materials conditionedin a co ntrolled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and

Exposespecimen at 38 +/- 2 C for 48 h. A control coup on shall be tested asabove excep

12、t the 15 g o f material will be omitted. Inspect the testcoupon for excessive corrosion or discoloration. 13、approval to this s pecification shall besubject ed to a production trial. Functional trial results must beapproved by the affected assembly operation and Design Engineering.Results shall be made available to Materials Engineering prior tomaterial approval and release.3.7 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSSpeci

14、fic requirements for material and or manufa ctured parts shall bespecified on the engineering drawing, engineerin g parts specificationand/or performance specifications. All critical areas with respectto these properties shall be designated on the engineering drawing.3.8 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll

15、materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specifi

16、cation, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test d

17、ata, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa dif ferent suf

18、fix (e.g, A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression

19、 of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demo

20、nstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. In addition to meeting therequi rements of this specification, the materials will be assessed forsuita bilit
