SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for paint films on fiberboard substrates for interior use. 2. APPLICATION This specifica

3、tion was released originally to define paint performance requirements for painted fiberboard package trays. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P11

4、11-A). 3.3 SYSTEM COMPONENTS/REQUIREMENTS 3.3.1 Substrate Fiberboard with phenolic paper, or as specified on the Engineering Drawing. 3.3.2 Substrate Preparation The surface to be painted shall be cleaned by an acceptable process, e.g. power wash, to remove mold releasing agents, fingerprints, oils,

5、 dirt and moisture. 3.3.3 Primer Where necessary to meet the requirements of this specification, an adhesion primer, primer surfacer or primer sealer must be used and specified on the Engineering Drawing. Clear primer shall be used when molded in color substrate is used. 3.3.4 Top Coat Suitable to m

6、eet the requirements of this specification or as specified on Engineering Drawing. 3.3.5 Film Thickness As specified in the applicable paint material specification. 7、 4 3.3.6 Conditioning Aging Test panels or test specimens prepared for investigations according to this specification must be aged for at least 72 hours at 23 +/- 2 C prior to testing. 3.3.7 Production Paint Repair Repaired areas must meet the requirements of this specification. All repair materials

8、 and processes used must be approved by the affected Product Engineering Office. Maximum film thickness for repaired parts will be defined in the mutually agreed upon control plan. 3.4 APPEARANCE Color, gloss, grain and surface finish shall match master Trim Sample and/or Master Appearance Sample ap

9、proved by Design. 3.4.1 Color See approved Master (FLTM BI 109-01) sample 3.4.2 Gloss As specified on (FLTM BI 110-01, engineering drawing 60 degree glossmeter) 3.5 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES 3.5.1 Adhesion Grade 0 (FLTM BI 106-01, Method B) 3.5.2 Resistance to Water and Soap Rating 4-5 Spotting, max dis

10、coloration (FLTM BI 113-01) Evaluation according to the AATCC Scale. No film softening. 3.5.3 Resistance to Acid Spotting Rating 4-5 (AATCC Scale, min) (FLTM BI 113-02) No film softening. 3.5.4 Resistance to Synthetic Perspiration Rating 4-5 Staining, AATCC Scale, min (FLTM BI 113-03) No stains, cha

11、nge in color tone or gloss. 3.5.5 Mar and Scratch Resistance 1000 cycles (FLTM BN 108-04, A head, 0.9 kg load) No wear through to substrate. 12、leaning Agents, Rating 4-5 AATCC Scale, min (FLTM BN 107-01, 10 cycles) Test Procedure: Substitute a painted plaque for the textile material. Saturate white cotton cloth with the cleaners listed. Cleaners (see also 5.1) 1) Window cleaner with ammonia 2) Multi purpose cleaner 3) Isopropyl alcohol, 50

13、/50 with water 3.5.7 Crocking Test Rating 4-5 (FLTM BN 107-01, 25 cycles) 3.5.8 Abrasion Resistance, min 1000 cycles (FLTM BN 108-02, CS-10 wheels, 500 g) Abrasion resistance shall be determined on test panels with smooth surface at a paint film thickness specified on the Engineering Drawing. The pa

14、int film shall show no wear through to the substrate. 3.5.9 Initial Hardness The finish shall be sufficiently hard at time of packing and shipping to withstand normal handling without damage. 3.6 ENVIRONMENTAL CYCLING (Initial Approval Only) 3 cycles (FLTM BQ 104-07, Procedure 5) Evaluation after 20

15、 h conditioning at 23 +/- 2 C. No evidence of cracks, no blistering, no change in appearance or other failure when compared with an original unaged part. Adhesion shall meet the requirements of 3.5.1. 3.7 HEAT RESISTANCE (7 d at 120 +/- 2 C) No color change, blistering or loss of adhesion per 3.5.1.

16、 Gloss change less than 30%. 3.8 RESISTANCE TO IMPACT AT LOW TEMPERATURES (FLTM BO 151-01, Method B, - 30 C) (Applicable to plastic substrates only) No cracking and no loss of adhesion. Test panels or specimens painted according to para 3.3 of this specification shall be exposed in the area of Miami, Flo

18、rida for the required exposure time. Evaluation: No blistering, peeling, cracking, crazing, or any other deterioration. Color change, AATCC Scale, min Rating 4 Gloss change, 60 deg meter, max 30% Adhesion per para 3.5.1 Grade 1 3.10 RESISTANCE AGAINST ARTIFICIAL WEATHERING 1240 kJ/m2(SAE J1885) Note

19、 In case of different results between Florida exposure and accelerated weathering, the Florida results are relevant.
