3、uld be applied on clean substrates.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to a
4、nalyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermogr
5、ams established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST

Pass a 2 kg roller overthe release paper side of the tape once in each direction. Remove there lease paper and hang the panel vertically in an air circulatingoven at 120 +/- 2 C fo
16、r 30 minutes.3.12 PAINT COMPATIBILITYNo evidence of migration stain, pinholing, blist ering or softening ofthe paint film.Test Method: A 150 mm length of tape shall be p laced in contact witha 100 x 300 mm painted panel, as per para 5.3.4 and 5.3.5. Expose theassembly to a temperature of 90 +/- 2 C

19、be cause for rejection.Test Method: A test sp ecimen, 7 mm in diameter and 300 mm in lengthshall be placed between a pair of acrylic or glass plates (5 - 10 mmthick and 15 0 mm long by 150 mm wide) in a “U“ configuration andcompressed 10 % using spacers as a guide. The fi xture must be clampedor bol
20、ted to maintain the 10 % compression throu ghout the test. (SeeFigure 3.) Stand the assembly on edge with the opening of the “U“channel up. Fill the channel to a depth of 100 m m with colored water.Inspect the assembly after 24 h for evidence of water leaks. 3.16 STORAGE STABILITYThe material shall
21、be stored at temperatures bel ow 41 C away from allsources of heat and sunlight. Heat greatly accelerates aging. Theminimum shel f life will be 6 months if it is stored at 23 +/- 2 C.When the material is stored at room temperatures below 23 C, it shallbe condi tioned at room temperature 24 h prior t
22、o application.Adequ ate conditioning permits the material to obtain its optimumapplication properties.3.17 RELEASE PAPERThe t ape sealer shall have a suitable release paper which shall bere adily removed, but shall not pull off in shipping and handling.There shall be no transfer of the release agent
23、 to the tape after 6months of storage at 23 +/- 2 C.3.18 FUNCTIONAL APPROVALMaterials being evaluated for approval to this s pecification shall besubject ed to a production trial. Functional trial results must beapproved by the affected assembly operation and Design Engineering.Results shall be made

26、ify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, reg
