3、VE (BODY GLASS AND MOONROOFS) NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are ceramic coatings for glass. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for material used to trademark or decorate glazing material, such as backlites, sidelites, m

4、oonroofs and windshields on the interior surface. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 BASIC MATERIAL 3.3.1 Composition 3.3.1.1 Glass

5、Enamel WSB-M99G109-D (For use on body glass, windshields and moon roofs.) Shall consist of a glass frit and a light and temperature stable pigment milled together to the proper fineness (See para 3.3.2.2). WSB-M99G109-E (For use on windshields) Shall consist of a glass frit and a light and temperatu

6、re stable pigment and up to 10% zinc, maximum, milled together to the proper fineness (See para 3.3.2.2). 7、 moonroofs) Shall consist of a glass frit and a light and temperature stable pigment and up to 30% zinc maximum, milled together to the proper fineness (See para 3.3.2.2). 3.3.1.2 Weight per Unit Volume The weight tolerances for any one supplier shall be +/- 1.0% based on the recorded weight per uni

8、t volume of his original approved production sample. 3.3.1.3 Toxicity The material shall contain no benzene, chlorinated or other toxic compounds, or hydrolyzable chlorine derivatives, or have an obnoxious or objectionable odor. 3.3.2 Physical Properties 3.3.2.1 Viscosity . Decorative with Trademark

9、 Shall be formulated, so that it can be applied using a 150 - 200 mesh nylon screen to provide a smooth opaque coating which meets the requirements of these specifications. . Trademark Only Shall be formulated so that it can be applied using an offset printer to provide a smooth opaque coating which

10、 meets the requirements of these specifications. 3.3.2.2 Particle Size . Decorative with Trademark 99.9% of the material should pass through a 325 mesh screen and be controlled to a maximum Hegman Grind reading of 7.0 (0.013 mm). . Trademark Only Shall not exceed a reading of 4 on the NIPRI (Nationa

11、l Ink Printing Research Institute) Grind Gage. 3.4 FIRED MATERIAL 3.4.1 Preparation of Test Panels 3.4.1.1 Substrate 100 x 100 x 5.6 mm glass as specified on the engineering drawing. 12、nologies, LLC Page 3 of 4 3.4.1.2 Cleaning Glass must be free of dirt, oil, fingerprints, and any other material which would interfere with the ceramic coating. 3.4.1.3 Ceramic Coating . Decorative with Trademark Apply using a 150 - 200 mesh nylon screen. . Trademark Only Apply using an offset print

13、er. 3.4.1.4 Firing Schedule Shall be equivalent to the production curing and annealing cycle. 3.4.2 Physical Properties 3.4.2.1 Color . Decorative with Trademark Black, or as specified on engineering drawing to match the Styling master. . Trademark Only White, or as specified on engineering drawing

14、to match the Styling master. 3.4.2.2 Coefficient of Thermal Expansion 75 +/- 2-7/C (ASTM C 337) 3.4.3 Appearance The ceramic coating when properly fired shall be a smooth, presentable, serviceable coating showing essentially no craters, pinholes, seediness, or abnormal roughness. 3.4.4 Film Properti

15、es 3.4.4.1 Opacity - Decorative with Trademark Total visible light transmission through the ceramic band shall not exceed 1.0%. The measurement shall be made using a transmission black and white densitometer e.g. “Tobias Model TBX“, in direct contact with the ceramic band surface. 3.4.4.2 Adhesion W

16、hen properly fired per para 3.4.1.4 shall show no loss of adhesion when scratched with a knife held at 90 to the surface of the sample. 17、stance Decorative with Trademark . Shall show no more abrasion or dulling than that shown on master sample filed in the body materials laboratory when abraded per procedure shown under Test Number 18 of ANSI Standard Z26.1, 1977, January 26, 1977, as supplemented by Z26.1a, July 3, 1980, and incorpo

18、rated by reference in FMVSS 205, February 23, 1984, except that the wheel must be refaced with a new 600 grit paper disc prior to abrading each specimen. Note: Approval of new ceramic paste suppliers, master samples of abraded test specimen of the acceptable standard, to be provided by the Ford Moto

19、r Company, Glass Division. Trademark Only . Same as for Decorative with Trademark except load shall be 250 g. 3.4.5 Durability Properties 3.4.5.1 Chemical Resistance No visible change Test Method: Immerse a 100 x 100 x 5.6 mm coated glass sample in a 5% sodium hydroxide and water solution at 23 +/-

20、2 C for 15 minutes. Remove samples and examine. 3.4.6 Performance Requirements Shall conform to the requirements of WSB-M99P6-B Types I or II. 5.
