SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a sintered carbon, copper, tin, phosphorus manganese steel. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released

3、originally for material used for valve guide bushings. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION (Weight %) (ASTM A 75

5、ce and manufacturing requirements will form part of an agreed control plan for each component. 3.3 DENSITY, min 6.4 - 6.9 g/cm3 (ISO 2738/ASTM B 328) For valve guides 55 mm or less, the density variation between the central third and outer third lengths shall be 0.3 g/cm3 max. 3.4 APPARENT HARDNESS

6、HRB 55 - 90 (ISO 4498/1, ASTM E 18) Average of a minimum of five readings along a longitudinal section of the wall on the outside surface a minimum of 5 mm from either end. Page 2 of 2 3.5 MICROSTRUCTURE The composite microstructure shall consist of a ternary iron phosphorus carbon eutectic matrix with a discontinuous grain boundary carbide network. Copper-tin alloy, manganese sulphide and graphite are associated with original par

8、ticle boundaries. Inter-connected porosity is distributed throughout. Intra-granular oxide films are not permitted. Phase identification and distribution will be controlled by reference to photomicrographs representing structures of valve guides for which approval is originally given. These photo-mi

9、crographs will form part of the agreed control plan. 3.6 SURFACE CONDITION Surfaces shall be free of scale and rust. Nicks, intrusions, burrs and depressions shall not exceed 0.25 mm in any direction. Visual inspection is to be performed under white light without the aid of magnification. 5. GENERAL
