、1 LUBRICANT, TORQUE/CLAMPING FORCE CONTROL WSD-M13P7-A 1. SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for lubricants which are applied to threaded parts to impart specific torque/clamping force properties. It applies for both the testing of the lubricant and for testing finished pa
、rts which are treated with any of the approved lubricants. 2. APPLICATION This specification was originally released for bolts, screws and nuts where control of the torque/clamping force performance is required. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers an
、d part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 APPLICATION OF THE LUBRICANT Finished parts will be received in a lubricated condition. The responsibility for application of the lubricant and method of application shall be that of th
、e parts supplier. 3.3 FINISHED CONDITION The parts must be dry to touch such that when held with a Watmans No 41 filter paper, or equivalent, and applying hand pressure for 5 to 10 seconds, there shall be no visible staining of the filter paper when viewed without using supplementary magnification.
、For referee purposes this test shall be carried out using a force of 10N. There must be no significant change in the appearance of the parts after application of the lubricant. 3.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS (Worldwide Standard Parts System WZ100/WZ101) Lubricants, when applied to ISO metric coarse th
、readed steel fasteners, shall ensure that the Torque/Clamping Force performance conforms to the Worldwide Standard Parts system, WZ100 or WZ101. The Torque/Clamping Force test shall be carried out as specified in WZ100 or WZ101. 3.5 CORROSION RESISTANCE Corrosion test requirements defined in the protective finish specifications shall apply after application of the lubricant material.
