SCOPE These specifications define the requ
3、irements of a heavyweight phosphate coating applied to iron or steel parts. 2. APPLICATION The phosphate coat is intended to form a base for subsequent bonding for adhesion or oil for corrosion resistance applications. As phosphated (i.e. no subsequent treatment) is generally required for rubber bon
4、ding applications. Moderate corrosion resistance, particularly on components not exposed to weathering, is obtained when finished with oil. 3. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requireme
5、nts For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COATING WEIGHT 10 - 20 g/m2(FLTM AQ 101-03)Lower coating weights may be acceptable in certain bonding applications and will be part of the Control Plan. 3.3 ADHESION - SCRATCH TEST There shall be no chipping away of the coating upon scratching with
6、a knife blade held at 90 to the surface. 3.4 SALT SPRAY RESISTANCE (ASTM B 117) The parts shall not exhibit any corrosion after salt spray testing as follows: WSD-M3P35-A3 Oiled 24 h WSD-M3P35-A4 Oiled 24 h Note: Oil used shall conform to appropriate health and safety requirements. Note: Chromate rinse treatments to enhance corrosion shall not be used.
