SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an Ethylene/Acrylic Rubber hose, internally reinforced with one or more plies of braided textile. 2. APPLICATION This specif

3、ication was released originally for material used as automatic transmission and/or engine oil cooler hoses. The hose is resistant to long term exposure to automatic transmission fluids and/or engine oils up to 150 C and air temperatures up to 150 C. The hose is also capable of withstanding short ter

4、m oil temperatures up to 175 C. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 HOSE CONSTRUCTION The hose shall consist of an ethylene/acrylic r

5、ubber inner tube and outer cover with one or more layers of suitable braided reinforcing textile. The hose will usually be fitted with crimped metal end-fittings. 3.5 MATERIAL TESTING The following tests shall be performed on finished hoses and/or test specimens cut from them. The test specimens sha

6、ll be die-cut from the finished parts and buffed or slit to the required thickness where necessary. When not feasible, specimens cut from molded test slabs manufactured from the same material with an equivalent state of cure shall be used. The test slabs shall have the following dimensions: 150 x 15

16、Hoses are to be tested with end-fittings installed. Each individual design of end-fitting to hose attachment shall be separately tested and approved. Differences in metal pipework configuration away from the end-fittings to hose attachments do not need individual approval. 3.8.1 Burst Strength, min

21、ion Fluid (ATF) or Engine oil depending on the final use of the hose. Approval will be given for use with either ATF or Engine oil. If the hose is to be used with both fluids, then this test must be carried out separately with both fluids. A 300 +/- 10 mm length of hose (with end fittings) shall be

22、connected into a fluid recirculation rig so that Automatic Transmission Fluid or Engine Oil (Use current first-fill production release fluid or oil, see para 5.1) can be circulated at a rate of 7 +/- 0.5 L/min at 150 +/- 2 C. The hose shall be placed in an oven at 150 +/- 2 C and fluid circulated fo

23、r 1000 +/- 2 h after which the oil temperature shall be raised to 175 +/- 2 C and the test continued for a further 70 +/- 2 h. 5.
