2、 WSD-M96D14-A3 REINFORCED, ENGINE COOLANT RESISTANT LOW COMPRESSION SET 1. SCOPE This specification defines an internally rayon or polyester fabric reinforced, engine coolant hose. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a hose connection between the radiator and engine block w

3、here good resistance to compressive creep under securing clamps is required. The hose will withstand coolant and ambient air temperatures up to 120 C but has limited resistance to excessive oil contamination and poor resistance to fuel contamination. If resistance to ambient air or coolant temperatu

4、res above 120 C is required, then the hoses described in WSE-M96D14-A1/A2 or WSD-M96D23-A1 should be considered. Consider using WSE-M96D34-A1, A2 or A3 where resistance to electrochemical degradation is required. (Contact Materials Engineering for selection advice). 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQU

5、IREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 DYNAMIC MECHANICAL ANALYSIS (ASTM D 4065) Ford Motor Company, at its option, may establish a shear modulus/damping vs. temperature

6、 curves plotted for -50 to +150 C temperature range for material/parts supplied to this specification. The shear modulus and damping curves established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall prod

7、uce shear modulus and damping curves that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.5 HOSE CONSTRUCTION The hose shall consist of an inner tube and outer cover of ethylene/propylene rubber (EPDM) with an internal reinforcing layer of a suitable knitted or braided

8、high tenacity rayon or polyester fabric. 3.6 MATERIAL TESTING 3.6.1 Preparation of Test Specimens Whenever possible, all test specimens shall be die-cut from the finished parts. When not feasible, specimens cut from molded test sheets manufactured from the same material and with equivalent cure to m

9、olded parts are recommended. Increase the coolant temperature to 93 +/- 2 C and pressurise to 172 kPa. After 8 +/- 0.25 h remeasure t

15、he circumference at 93 +/- 2 C and 172 kPa and calculate the percentage increase in circumference. 3.12 RESISTANCE TO KINKING, Collapse Allowed, max 25% (SAE J20 Part IV, except use test parameters tabulated below.) All hoses 300 mm or less in total length shall be tested as received. Hoses longer tha

19、n 300 mm may be cut to 300 mm for test purposes (test sample to include the most extreme bend if hose is formed). 20、ected to a total of 200 internal pressure pulses at a rate of 6 to 8 pressure cycles/min with initial pressure between 0 and 276 kPa then increased over a period of 3 to 6 s to the peak pressure tabulated below for each hose size. Specified coolant mixture maintained at 100 +/- 5 C shall be circulat

21、ed through the hose during test. After running the test for 5 complete cycles test for change in Burst and Cover Adhesion. Hose I.D. 23、g hoses to this specification. No space between letters. Mandatory on hoses longer than 80 mm only. c) Ford trademark on hoses longer than 150 mm. d) All of the above printing shall be clearly and legibly printed letters of 4.5 - 6 mm in height and width. When hose is less than 80 mm long, width of

24、letters may be reduced to 3 mm. The following code format is recommended, but not mandatory: G 2 01 Where: G = Plant Designation 2 = Year (single digit) 01 = Month (2-digit number) 5.
