、ATOR ALLOY WSF-M6A12-B 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a nickel-iron temperature compensating alloy in flat stock coiled form, manufactured to produce specific thermo-magnetic properties. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for the magne
、tic shunt in the speedometer assembly to compensate for magnetic change due to temperature variation. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A).
、 3.2 PERMEABILITY The following tests shall be conducted on a D.C. Permeameter. The values for permeability are requirements at H = 46 oersteds (3660 A/m). . Permeability at 25 C must be 32 to 45. . The average negative slope of the permeability temperature curve from minus 20 to plus 50 C must be i
、n the range of 1.20 to 1.50 permeability per degree celsius. . The average slope from minus 20 to plus 25 C shall not be less than the slope between 25 and 50 C greater than 30% of the slope between 25 and 50 C. 3.3 FUNCTIONAL TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION The material, when assembled in a current speedo
、meter, must satisfy temperature compensating requirements as outlined in Engineering Specification ES 17255 (latest copy) as tested by the affected Product Engineering Office. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION Nickel 29.5 - 32.5 (nominal 29.75) Iron Balance 5.2 HARDNESS - Rockwell “B“ 58 - 70 (ASTM E 18 & E 93)
