APPLICATIONThis spe cification was released originally for material used as two packpaint for various exterior applications such as radiator grilles, body sidemoldings, etc.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie

3、rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuousl

4、y reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard an

5、d shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONINGAl l Tests according to this specification shall be performed in acontrolled atmosphere of

12、parationThe surface to be painted shall be cleaned by an acceptablepr ocess, e.g. power wash, to remove mold releasing agents,fingerprints, oils, dirt and moisture.3.6.3 Primer Surfacer (if required)Application of a primer surfacer, film thickness and bakingas specified in the relevant material spec

16、 SANDING AND POLISHINGAfter curing, the painted surface can be sanded and polished manuallyat room temperature in case of repair.3.11 QUALITYThe top coat must be adaptable for application i n accordance with theappropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification.The top coat must be compatible with

17、 all related materials.3.12 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction, color, processing or labelli

18、ng of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the writ

19、ten approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe mat erials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materi

20、al Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring app

21、roval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffect ed Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnomina

22、l values), the material designation and code number, and testspecimen s for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
