、D FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE These specifications define the performance requirements for thick and medium film paints used on visible passenger car/commercial vehicle chassis components. WSK-M2P153-A1 For parts requiring minimal corrosion resistance or functional requirements. WSK-M2P153-A2 For parts
、requiring extra-light corrosion resistance or functional requirements. WSK-M2P153-A3 For parts requiring light-moderate corrosion resistance or functional requirements. WSK-M2P153-A4 For parts requiring moderate corrosion resistance or functional requirements. WSK-M2P153-A5 For parts requiring sever
、e corrosion resistance or long-time functional requirements. WSK-M2P153-A6 For parts requiring extra-severe corrosion resistance or extra long-time functional requirements. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally to be specified where uniform coverage, good corrosion protection
、and adequate appearance are necessary. ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION WSK-M2P153-A1/A6 Printed copies are uncontrolled Copyright 2008, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. Page 2 of 3 3. 8、D REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 SYSTEM COMPONENTS 3.3.1 Substrate As specified on the Engineering Drawing. 3.3.2 Cleaning The surface to be coated must be f
、ree from oil or alkaline residues, fingerprints, rust, dirt, moisture, and other foreign materials. 3.3.3 Coating Material 3.3.3.1 The quality required is that obtainable with best commercial practice to meet the performance requirements of this specification. Either air dried or stoved finishes are
、 permitted, and while a crystalline phosphate coating is not mandatory, it is recommended to phosphate coat for adequate adhesion and corrosion resistance. Light weight amorphous iron phosphate is not permitted. Any suitable method of coating application may be used. 3.3.3.2 Coating System Coating m

The finish shall produce a smooth hard film, free from sagging, dirt, and seed. 3.4.4 Film Thickness (FLTM BI 117-01) Film thickness must be sufficient to meet all the performance requirements of this specification. Parts shall be free from excessive runs, tears or other l
