SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a one component, roomtemperature vulcanizing

2、silicon e rubber adhesive/sealer with good heat andoil resistance.2. APPLICATIONTh is specification was released originally for material used forformed-i n-place gaskets at engine oil pan and T-joints at cylinder blockand oil pump.3. REQUIREMENTSAll values quoted in this specification are calculated

3、 from the mean ofthre e readings. The three readings shall be within +/- 15 % of the meanvalue. Where necessary repeat tests shall be done until this requirementis satisfied. To improve the reproducibility of results every effort shouldbe m ade to exclude air bubbles from the test specimens. It may

4、be foundhelpful to apply a low level va cuum to the freshly cast test specimens forno more than 2 minutes.All va lues indicated under paragraphs 3.5 to 3.10.2 are based on materialtest specimens which have been cured for 7 days at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 %relative humidity before testing.3.1 STATISTICAL P

5、ROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product

6、is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the referen

7、ce standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. 17、ering drawing, Engineerin g parts specificationand/or performance specifications. All critical areas with respect tothese properties shall be clearly designated on the Engineeringdrawing.3.17 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristi

20、amples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford isap plicable to the materials addressed by this document. Therestrictions are defined in Engineering Material SpecificationWSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a different suffix (

21、e.g., A2 or A3) isspecified on the engineering document for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of

22、interest from theaffect ed Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and test

23、specimen s for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for assistance and clarificationand does not represent requirement(s) to this specification.5.1 CURINGUpon exposure to atmospheric humidity, the material begins to cureimmediately on the surface and progresses inward.A tack-free skin will f orm in 10 - 30 min. The release of traces ofacetic acid into the atmosphere during the curing process is normalfor some types of sealant.
