SCOPEThe material defined by this

2、specification is a solvent borne, modifiedpolyester, baking primer surfacer for exterior automotive applications.2. APPLICATIONThis s pecifications was released originally for material used as a primersurfacer over baked EC surfaces on vehicle bodies and small parts toprovide good stone chip resista

3、 nce and enamel appearance. The primer willbe painted with either solvent borne topcoats or waterbo rne basecoats. Thematerial is suitable for electrostatic spray application.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mu

4、tually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Comp

5、any, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shal

6、l produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONINGAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior

27、the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxi cology and theaff ected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes andobta in the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity.Test data , test samples and a new code identification are to besubmitted wit

28、h the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply toth e materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1, unlessa differ ent suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the ap

29、plication.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMaterials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval oftheir mat erials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffecte d Purchasing, Design and Materials Enginee

30、ring activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringact ivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized repres entative of the test facility, demonstratingfu ll compliance with all the requirements of this specificat

31、ion (testresults, not nominal values), t he material designation and code number, andtest spec imens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateria l will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassess ment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Up
