SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a multiple layer chromium or chromium-nickel stamping film suitable for the decorative hot stamping of plastic pa
3、rts. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for exterior plastic parts where a decorative metallic coating is required. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For P
4、roduction Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 FILM PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Construction . Supporting film, transparent . Lacquer . Chromium or chromium-nickel coating (metallized in vacuum) . Primer adhesive . Hot melt adhesive (1) . Protective Coating as specified on Engineering Drawing (2) (1) The hot melt a
5、dhesive must be compatible with the plastic material and must be carefully matched with the primer adhesive. (2) If a protective coating is required on the Engineering Drawing, it shall be compatible with the metallic layer and plastic substrate. 3.4.2 Appearance There shall be no evidence of surfac

The tape shall be removed with an upward motio
8、n at a moderate speed. Measure the thickness of the remaining film according to ISO 4593. 3.4.4.3 Coating, min 5 micrometre 3.5 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES 3.5.1 Preparation of Test Panels Except where otherwise noted, resistance property tests shall be conducted using injection molded plastic panels hot
9、stamped under standard production conditions as recommended by the supplier of the foil. Plastic Panels: Preferably black pigmented ABS/PC according to WSK-M4D685-A or equivalent. 3.5.2 Weathering Resistance After exposure in accordance with 3.5.2.1, 3.5.2.2 and 3.5.2.3 the material shall show no fa
10、ding or color change in excess of specified AATCC rating (AATCC Gray Scale for Evaluating Change in Color, 10 step). In addition, there shall be no cracking, crazing or other deterioration. A slight loss of gloss or chalking will be allowed provided an acceptable appearance can be achieved by polish
11、ing with Ford car polish (auto wax) at permission of the affected Product Development Materials Activity. All initial approvals will be based on the preliminary weatherometer exposure, pending Florida exposure results for final approval. 3.5.2.1 Xenon Arc Weatherometer Rating 4-5 (SAE J1960, 1980 kJ
