SCOPE The material defined by this specification is finished, full grain, steer or heifers hide which has been chrome free tanned to retain the natura
3、l odor of the leather. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as instrument panel leather for the CD345 Mondeo. This material must meet the requirements of WSS-M15P45-B/latest and the appropriate Instrument Panel SDS. If this material will be part of an integrate
4、d airbag/instrument panel system then the material must also meet the requirement of the appropriate airbag SDS. 3. REQUIREMENTS For all test methods, no individual specimen shall fall below the minimum values specified herein. Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualifica
5、tion of materials. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements for Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1.1 Vehicle Interior Environment Quality Materials/Component Performance Requirements Materials
6、used in interior applications must meet the requirements outlined in WSS-M99P2222-C1 or latest. Data must be included in material submission package. 3.2 SAMPLE SELECTION Samples for testing shall be selected no closer than 80 mm from edge of the hide. 3.3 APPEARANCE 3.3.1 Color Matching with Artifi
7、cial Light (FLTM BI 109-01, Visual Assessment) The color, pattern and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample or shall be as specified on the Engineering Document. 3.3.2 Gloss As specified on the Engineering Document (FLTM BI 110-01) The color, grain, visual aesthetics, hand and
8、finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 9、o a sufficient depth to prevent undyed fibers from showing through after sewing. Also, the color of the dye must be compatible in appearance with the surface coating. 3.5 FINISH All hides shall show no defects or surface blemishes affecting the appearance of the material, such as brush marks or stop

Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials
29、 shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full complianc
30、e with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans,
31、Certification testing) with Ford. 4.2 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials
32、 ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For part
33、s and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.3 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance r
34、estrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a c
