2、TANNED OR CHROME FREE WSS-M1F26-A TANNED, SUPPLE, MILLED NOT FOR USE IN NORTH AMERICA NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE This specification is commonised for use by Ford Motor Company, Jaguar and Land Rover. The materials defined by this specification are finished, full grain or corrected grain,

3、 selection A steer hides which have been tanned to retain the natural odour of the leather and softened to provide maximum seating comfort without sacrificing the leathers remaining physical properties. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for material used as interior trim l

4、eather, excluding instrument panel covers, steering wheels. Because the hand and appearance characteristics will be adversely affected, the leather shall not be subjected to steam or radiant heat or organic solvents during any manufacturing process except as specified below. Corrected grain leather

5、shall be snuffed using one pass of 320 grit paper. The method of correction will be agreed with Purchasing and Materials and Body Engineering. 3. REQUIREMENTS For all test methods, no individual specimen shall fall below the minimum values specified herein. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION M

6、ATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SAMPLE SELECTION Samples for testing shall be selected no closer than 80 mm from edge of the hide. 3.3 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, grain, visual

7、 aesthetics, hand and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 3.4 GRADE The leather must be through dyed to prevent undyed fibers from showing through after sewing or perforation. Also, the colour of the dye must be compatible

8、 in appearance with the surface coating. No stuccoing. 3.5 FINISH All hides shall show no paint defects or surface blemishes affecting the appearance of the material, such as brush marks or stops and bad flows. In addition, the material shall not exhibit staining, blistering, loss of coating adhesion, flaking, chipping, checking, chalking, cracking, splits, sinks, bulges, peeling, tackiness or delamination. 3.12.1 Resistance to Fade (SAE J1885, ISO 105-A02/ AATCC Eval

12、uation Procedure 1) 225.6 kJ/m2Rating 4 488.8 kJ/m2Rating 3 In addition, the material must remain flexible and exhibit no cracking when bent around a 2.5 mm mandrel. 3.12.2 Resistance to Heat Ageing, min Rating 4 (7 days at 100 +/- 2 C, ISO 105-A02/ AATCC Evaluation Procedure 1) The heat-aged sample

13、 shall not exhibit color tone change in excess of the above rating or excessive gloss change greater than the sample originally approved by Materials Engineering. In addition, other trim applications may require unique functional evaluations. These tests should be evaluated by a cross-functional team prior to color and trim stra

30、tegy approval to assess the effects of the leather selection, seat style, sew style, leather perforation, foam hardness, etc. on the predicted level of customer satisfaction and long term durability. 3.22 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PERFORATED LEATHER All perforated leather shall meet the full leath

31、er specification before perforation. All perforated leather/parts to be skived, perforated and flesh sealed. With moderate pressure, vacuum the entire surface for 1 minute using the vacuum cleaner specified in SAE J948 with 28 mm nozzle and maximum pressure setting (100% Vacuum using Taber Test Vacuum). The material shall be judged a failure if there is fiber show through to the
