SCOPE The materials defi

2、ned by this specification are steer or heifer hides which have been tanned and processed as corrected grain without sacrificing the leathers physical properties. Corrected grain top coat finish is processed to allow greater yield, with haptics not being the primary attribute. 2. APPLICATION These sp

3、ecifications were released for material used as seating leather. 2.1 LIMITATION This specification cannot be used for instrument panel covers, steering wheels or door uppers. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on

4、the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 3.2 SUPPLIER RESPONSIBILITY It is the Leather suppliers r

5、esponsibility to inform the JIT supplier that subjecting leather to steam or radiant heat or organic solvents during any manufacturing process will adversely affect the hand and appearance characteristics. 3.3 APPEARANCE The color, grain, gloss and hand shall match the approved Corporate Design mast

6、er sample. 3.4 CORRECTED GRAIN Corrected grain leather shall be snuffed using one pass of 320 grit paper. No stuccoing, filling or other repair is permitted. 3.5 LEATHER PERFORMANCE Materials manufactured to this Specification shall also meet the requirements contained in WSS-M99P43-D/latest. ENGINE

7、ERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION WSS-M1F29-D1 Copyright 2017, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 4 3.6 VEHICLE INTERIOR ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE Materials used in interior applications must meet the requirements outlined in WSS-M99P2222-D1/latest, Performance, Vehicle Interior Environmental Qualit

8、y Material/Component Requirements. Data must be included in material submission package. 3.7 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values are based on material conditioned for not less than 24 h prior to testing in a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Testing o

9、f the material should occur in the conditioning environment or soon after removal. 3.8 SAMPLE SELECTION LOCATIONS The location of the test samples is described in ISO 2418 or ASTM D2813 for physical testing of leather samples. Refer to WSS-M99P43-D/latest for samples to be taken from the belly and b

10、ackbone areas as noted in Table 1 of that specification. 3.9 FINISH All hides shall show no paint defects or surface blemishes affecting the appearance of the material, such as brush marks or stops. 3.10 THICKNESS 1.0 - 1.5mm (ASTM D 1813) or as specified on the Engineering Drawing 3.11 SHRINKAGE 5.

11、0% max (FLTM BN 105-03, except Heat Cycle 100 +/-2 C, 3 cycles) 3.12 STIFFNESS 65 +/- 10mm (FLTM BN 157-02) Stiffness measurements shall be taken along either side of the backbone. Stiffness must be tested from a hide. Stiffness cannot be tested from a pre or post assembled trim cover. Embossed or l

12、aminated leather will impact stiffness; therefore numerical results could occur outside of the range given above. 16、Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of t

17、he test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Fail

18、ure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.3 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, wh

19、ether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Re

20、quest for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.4 RESTRI
