SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an expanded polyvinyl chloride film laminated to a knitted polyester or polyester/cotton fabric. These materials can be used laminated wit

3、h foam and/or a backing fabric/scrim, based on the application. 2. APPLICATION WSS-M2F212-A1 was released originally for material used in interior trim as a covering for seating applications. WSS-M2F212-A4 was released originally for material used in interior trim as a perforated covering for seat a

4、pplications. Any other applications must be evaluated by the appropriate product engineer with functional testing and approved by Materials Engineering. 2.1 LIMITATIONS Product grain will be used to determine and classify the usage of this premium enhanced haptic topcoat polyvinyl chloride for Ford

5、and Lincoln vehicles. Areas where anti-squeak properties are required, WSS-M2F212-A vinyl cannot be used. Not to be used for truck or commercial vehicle, in any A surface. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, this material shall meet all requirements of the WSS M8P3-E1/E3 o

6、r latest Performance, Flexible Polymeric Film, Interior Quality specification. Laminated materials must meet the lamination requirement per WSS-M8P3-E3 or latest performance specification. 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on th

7、e Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS ENGINEERING MATERIAL S

GENERAL INFORMATION The information

12、given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest fro

13、m Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Speci

14、fication. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.2 SUPPLIERS O

15、NGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements,

16、the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material

17、Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.3 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company dir

18、ection applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting. 4.1 WSS-M2F212-A4 These materials may require the usage of dark colored foam and knit substrate to be used with dark color to prevent read through from the foam and knit substrate. 5.
