SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a flat needled, polyester, non-woven carpet of good quality and uniform composition backcoated a with synthetic latex. 2. APPLICATION This specification was origi
3、nally released for material used in the luggage compartment as a cover back trim lower product for the 2000 Ford Focus. The application requires stiffness as well as uniformity of the luggage compartment face material. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qu
4、alification of materials. In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabricated) shall meet all requirements of the WSS-M15P32-C performance specification. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the
5、Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and t
6、hermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior t
7、o testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved under t
11、his specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon notification of the Company, further instructions w
12、ill be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data and samples demonstrating compliance to this specification, if requested. Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified i
13、n Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification for direct supply to the Company must have prior approval. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. These include materials critical
14、to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility requirements or contractual agreements. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification.
