SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are random velour, needled, non-woven carpets of good quality and uniform composition. The carpet face is made with 100% post industrial fiber 2. APPLICATION This spe

3、cification was originally released for material used as trunk covering and seat back material for D385. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification

4、 is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values are based on material conditioned for not less than 24 h prior to testing i

5、n a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Testing of the material should occur in the conditioning environment or soon after removal. 3.3 PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 3.3.1 In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabric

6、ated), shall meet all requirements of the WSS-M15P32-D and WSS-M8P16-B performance specifications and any additional SDS requirements. The details for each of the suppliers specific construction shall be documented in the supplement attached and uploaded into the scanned data package. 3.3.2 Recycled

7、 Content This specification must contain at least 60% recycled content as defined by WRS- M99P42-A2 (Textile Materials, Identification of Recycled Content). 3.4 SAMPLE SELECTION All evaluations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior to any subsequent operations, su

8、ch as reheating or molding. 3.5 APPEARANCE The color, pattern, and gloss shall match the approved Corporate Design master sample. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 DRAWING CALL OUT The following shall be called out on

11、the Engineering drawing to correctly designate the approved material. WRS-M3H105-A14 Supplier Name and Product Code (As it appears on the Approved Source Listing) WSS-M8P16-B 4.2 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Pu

12、rchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specifica

13、tion. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. ENGINEERING MATERIA

Page 3 of 4 4.3 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally ap

15、proved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Su

16、ppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1.

17、4.4 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the supp

18、liers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting. 5.
