SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are bulked continuous filament (BCF) nylon, cut pile carpets, tufted into a synthetic primary foundation. It is then precoated and laminated to a barrier material for improved fit and acoustical p
3、roperties. This is a piece dyed carpet. 2. APPLICATION This material was released originally for carpets used for full floor application as part of the Carpet Construction Strategy. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabri
4、cated) shall meet all requirements of the WSS-M8P16-A performance specification for full floor applications and the appropriate requirements in the Sound and Heat SDS. This carpet meets the Resistance to Abrasion requirement of 2,000 cycles per paragraph 3.13 of WSS-M8P16-A, therefore, throw-in mats
5、 must be standard equipment or a heel pad must completely cover the areas most vulnerable to driver wear. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SAMPLE
6、SELECTION All evaluations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior to any subsequent operations, such as reheating or molding. 3.3 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specifie

8、ece dyed 3.6 CONSTRUCTION 3.6.1 Pile Yarn (ASTM D 1577) 135 - 165 tex (nylon, crimped textured, bulked continuous filament, 2.3 2.8 tex). 3.6.2 Pile Count (ASTM D 5793) Rows 32.0/100 mm min. Stitches 36.0/100 mm min. Rows and stitches per 100 mm shall be based on an average count on a 254 mm length
9、of carpet and shall not exceed +/- 10% of the set value. 3.6.3 Foundation Materials Primary (Tufting Foundation) Spun Bond Polyester 3.6.4 Pre-coating The pre-coat shall form a continuous and uniform coating over the back of the carpet so that all pile fibers are covered. The pre-coat shall be thoro
10、ughly melted and shall maintain its ability to lock in the pile fibers in the end-item, molded carpet assembly. The pre-coat shall thoroughly saturate the base of the pile fiber bundles to ensure adequate tuft lock. Penetration of the pre-coat through to the face shall be controlled to provide the r
