SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an Epoxy modified Polyester powder coat suitable for application over automotive radiators, radiator cores, condensers an
3、d associated parts. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material to be applied over mild steel, brass, terne plate, soldered, and aluminum substrates. The material shall be suitable for electrostatic spray or fluidized bed application. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREME
4、NTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 COMPOSITION 3.4.1 Binder The binder shall be thermosetting resin. It shall have sufficient thermal stability for processing. There shou

Panels should be degreased in accordance with FLTM BI 103-02. 3.6.1.2 Ford Engineering Approved Standard Steel Test Panels zinc phosphated with approved phosphate to WSK-M3P1-C requirements, eg. UMA 18004 or UMA 18005. Panels must be heated for 10 minutes at 140 C metal temperature an
10、d cooled down to room temperature in a desiccator prior to powder application. 3.6.1.3 Brass sheet of same quality and surface texture as that used in production. Surface preparation or degreasing should be carried out in accordance with FLTM BI 103-02 or as recommended by Powder Coat supplier. 3.6.
11、1.4 Terne Plate of same quality and surface texture as that used in production. Substrate surface preparation should be carried out as per Brass. 3.6.1.5 Aluminum of the same quality and surface texture as that used in production. Substrate surface preparation should be carried out as per Brass, and
12、 Terne Plate. It may be necessary to Chromate the surface prior to Powder Coat application, reference WSK-M6P2-B, in order to achieve required resistance properties. 3.6.2 Application Apply powder under test by electrostatic spray gun to a baked film thickness as recommended by the vendor.
