SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for sewing threads, and dry sewing threads for shift boot application. 2. APPLICATION This specificat
3、ion was released originally for material used in sewing operations in the manufacture of interior trim vehicle components. Table 1 indicates recommended usage per thread size (Tex/Metric-M) and fiber content. Thread usage per Tex/M and fiber content should be evaluated based on application. Nylon is
4、 the recommended fiber content. Certain regions (for example China) may require the use of polyester due to fiber availability. Polyester thread may be required for areas of high UV exposure such as Instrument Panels (IPs). WSS-M8P25-A has the typical lubricant on the thread. WSS-M8P25-B is produced
5、 dry to aid in the shift boot component level testing for liquid penetration. 3. REQUIREMENTS Threads to be used in the application of serging and embroidery for floor mats must meet WSS-M8P22-A, Performance, Floor Mat, Serge and Embroidery Thread. In addition, specific material specifications, WSS-
6、M15H66-A, and WSB-M15H64-A will need to be met based on application use. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements for Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, p
7、attern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 3.3 BALANCE Take a one meter length of sewing thread drawn freely from the side of the spool (without undue tension and without passing it through any restriction such as fing
8、ers, etc.) and bring the thread together to form a free hanging loop. In this position, the thread must not twist upon itself more than twice. 9、 from all imperfections of such character which would cause the thread to break during sewing. 3.5 IDENTIFICATION Each spool of thread must bear the name of the manufacturer, color suffix, and yarn size. 3.6 PACKING The material must be packed in such a way that no slippage of the thread layers or a

14、per the requirements stated above, it shall be assessed by a sewing test conducted under normal production conditions. The thread must process under production conditions without any reservations and meet the sewn seam requirements of the cover material specifications. Suppliers deliveries can be re

In addition, after sewing, the thread shall not exhibit objectionable streaks or any change in hue or purity of color. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided f
