SCOPE The material defined by this specification is any flexible (soft) cover fabric, or laminate, to be bonded to an interior roof system substrate base or interior part above the belt line. This includes applicati

3、ons such as headliner, pillar, sun visor, roller shade, and moon/sun roof. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for all materials (not including polymeric films) used for soft interior cover stock such as headliner, pillar, sun visor, roller shade and moon/sun roof, which includ

4、es knits, woven or non-woven construction. This includes any combination of composites with foam, scrim or fabric that is applicable to the part assembly. Testing must be conducted according to Table 1 for each approval phase with the appropriate backing for the application. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPR

5、OVED SOURCES This specification is performance based and does not have approved sources 3.2 PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION For lamination requirements refer to Performance Lamination for Seating and Interior Trim Specification WSS-M8P30-A1. In addition, applicable system requirements that must be met are

7、al conditioned for not less than 24 h prior to testing in a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Testing of the material should occur in the conditioning environment or soon after removal. 3.4 In addition to the requirements listed herein, the face fabric shall meet

8、all requirements of the applicable material specification. The material specification shall take precedence over the performance specification, for any requirement that differs from the performance specification. 9、s, LLC Page 2 of 10 3.5 CONSTRUCTION Face fabric shall be specified in the individual material specification. Backing materials to face fabric (scrim, foam or coatings) should be applied as required to meet application and process requirements and should be present for composite approval. 3.6 APPEAR

10、ANCE The color, pattern, finish and hand shall match the approved Corporate Design master sample. 3.7 FOGGING (PHOTOMETRIC) (SAE J1756, 3 h at 100 C heating, 21 C Cooling plate, post testing conditioning 16 h) Fog Number 70 min Formation of clear film, droplets or crystals is cause for rejection All

11、 materials, parts and components should be stored in an open environment for 14-28 days after manufacture, and then must be bagged in sealed polyethylene (PE) or PE coated aluminum bags for shipping. Parts for testing must be labelled with supplier and date of manufacture. Sample shall be tested as

12、part of a production assembly composite if it is 100% bonded. Expose for 7 days in a humidity cabine

23、t maintained at 98 +/- 2% relative humidity and 38 +/- 2 C. Evaluation After exposure remove the part from the cabinet and evaluate (smell the sample) immediately. The part shall exhibit no visible evidence of mildew growth and/or objectionable odor after the exposure. 3.11 COLOR PROPERTIES 3.11.1 R

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Materi

29、al Specifications. 4.1 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a

30、 qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the assoc

31、iated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.2 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any ch

32、anges to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reaso

33、ns) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

34、sign off must be kept until Job 1.
