2、standard performance requirements for soft flexible materials used in interior tonneau/cargo shade applications. 2 APPLICATION This specification was released originally for materials used in the interior cargo shade. Components that are part of the cargo management and cargo retention systems are n

3、ot included. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS 3.1.1 This specification is performance based and does not have approved sources. 3.1.2 In addition to the requirements listed herein, materials within the cargo shade system must meet all the applicable requirements if

4、present in the system: Hard, molded-in-color plastic components WSS-M15P4-G/latest Interior painted plastic components WSS-M2P188-B1/latest Interior painted metal components WSS-M2P190-A/latest Interior chrome-plated plastic components WSS-M1P83-E1/latest Thread specification WSS-M8P25-C/latest Labe

5、l performance WSS-M99P41-A10-A72/latest Applicable applicators/requirements as directed by Materials Engineering Refer to Table 2 within this specification for new construction and color approval requirements. 3.2 DV/PV TEST PLAN PEC/FEC/PV testing must be conducted in compliance with program milest

6、ones unless otherwise specified by Ford Engineering. Page 2 of 5 3.5 FOGGING 70 min (SAE J1756, 3 h at 100 C heating, 21 C cooling plate, post test conditioning 16 h) Formation of clear film, droplets or crystals is cause for rejection. All materials, parts and com

8、ponents should be stored in an open environment for 14-28 days after manufacture, and then must be bagged in sealed polyethylene (PE) or PE coated aluminum bags for shipping. Parts for testing must be labelled with supplier and date of manufacture. 3.6 FLAMMABILITY (ISO 3795) Burn Rate 100 mm/minute

9、 max 3.7 CONSTRUCTION PROPERTIES 3.7.1 Resistance to Abrasion of Automotive Bodycloth, 250 cycles Vinyl, and Leather (FLTM BN 108-02, CS-10 wheels, 1000 g load) Some gloss change is allowed. Excessive loss of grain or wear through to the backing fabric is not allowed. Samples are to be submitted to

10、Ford Materials Engineering for review. All specimens must be deemed a pass. The abrasion resistance of production material shall be equal to or better than the sample approved by Materials Engineering. 3.7.2 Resistance to Scuffing 200 cycles (SAE J365, 0.9 kg load, A head) No evidence of lifting, pe

11、eling or excessive top-coat removal. 3.7.3 Cold Flexibility -30 C (SAE J323, Method A) The material must remain flexible and after bending at 180 it must not exhibit cracks. 3.7.4 Bally Flex Test (FLTM BN 162-01, 15,000 cycles) 3.7.4.1 Original Rating 1 max 3.7.4.2 After Heat Aging per 3.6.X Rating

12、1 max No cracking of the surface finish with a 6X microscope when the sample is bent over a 12 +/- 2 mm mandrel in the direction of the test area. 3.8 COLOR PROPERTIES 3.8.1 Soiling and Cleanability (FLTM BN 112-08, AATCC Evaluation Procedure 2) Agents: Standard Soil Rating 4 min Grease Rating 4 min

In addition, the material shall not exhibit staining, blistering, or delamination. 3.8.3 Resistance to Crocking (FLTM BN 107-01, AATCC Evaluation Procedure 2) Dry Rating 5 min Wet Rating 5 min 3.8.4 Resistance to Migration Staining and Blocking (FLTM BN 103-01) No

15、 evidence of injurious exudation, adhesion (tackiness), separation, color transfer, staining, or flattening of embossing when vinyl is placed face to face with itself. No staining or color transfer to white vinyl film. 3.8.5 Resistance to Heat Aging Rating 4 min (FLTM BO 040-01, Procedure B, 100 C)

16、3.8.5.1 Visual Deterioration Rating 4 min (AATCC Evaluation Procedure 1) After exposure, the material shall show no evidence of tackiness, spewing, staining, color tone or change in hue in excess of the required AATCC rating. Any spotty or non-uniform staining or discoloration shall be cause for rej

17、ection. If the rating is less than the minimum requirement due to yellowing or color change other than fade, then the material must meet the requirements of 3.8.5.2. 3.8.5.2 Visual Deterioration, Xenon Arc Rating 4-5 min (FLTM BO 116-01, 75.2 kJ/m2 AATCC Evaluation Procedure 1) After exposure, the m

18、aterial shall show no evidence of tackiness, spewing, staining, color tone or change in hue in excess of the required AATCC rating. Any spotty or non-uniform staining or discoloration shall be cause for rejection. 3.9 Component Testing 3.9.1 Peel Adhesion (from vinyl to substrate) 25 N/50 mm min (FL

20、ed for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of the specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchas

21、ing, Design and Materials Engineering Activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering Activity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all t

22、he requirements of this specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on its performance to this specification and on an assessment of suitability for intended

23、 processes and/or applications. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 4.2 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any cha

24、nges to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reason

25、s) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) s

26、ign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.3 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which

27、 is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting. 5.
