SCOPE The material and construction defined by this specification is a low pressure transmission oil cooler hose with low insertion efforts composed of a chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM) tube and a chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM) or a chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) cover with a single

3、 Aramid fiber braid reinforcement. 2. APPLICATION This specification is released for material used for transmission oil cooler hose assemblies. Hose assemblies shall be suited for 1.7 MPa (250 psi) sustained working pressure. The hose shall be designed to operate through a temperature range of - 40

4、to + 150 C in specified transmission fluid and an ambient air temperature of - 40 to + 125 C with occasional excursions to + 135 C. The hose is for applications with insertion forces requirements of less than 120 N for 5/16“, 3/8“ and 1/ 2” hose inside diameters when pushed onto a standard end form

5、per 3.6.12. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 HOSE CONSTRUCTION The hose shall consist of a smooth bore chlorosulfonated polyethyle

6、ne (CSM) tube and a chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM) or a chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) cover. The reinforcement includes a braided Aramid fabric imbedded in and bonded between tube and cover and free of knots or other defects. The tube and cover are to be heat, oil, ozone, and abrasion resistan

7、t. The cover shall be non-blooming and black in color. The hose is to be suitable for clamped assemblies. 3.3 DIMENSIONS (Inner diameter of hose.) Size A = 5/16” hose Size B = 3/8” hose Size C = 1/2” hose Refer to approved drawing for dimensions. 3.4 MATERIAL TESTING Unless otherwise specified, the

8、following tests shall be performed on specimens cut from the finished hose where required. Test specimens are to be prepared by mechanically separating the hose constituents using a “band-knife splitter“ (preferred) or similar equipment. Alternatively, traditional stripping and buffing techniques ma

9、y also be used. However, different methods of preparation may not yield comparable results. Therefore, whatever method is selected, it should be applied consistently. 10、of 8 When not feasible to use actual hose, specimens cut from molded test slabs manufactured from the same material with an equivalent cure process shall be used. The test slabs shall be 150 X 150 mm, minimum X 2.0 +/- 0.2 mm. The separated hose constituents or test slabs shall be die-cut using the

11、appropriate ISO/ASTM specimen preparation dies described in the methods referenced. 3.5 AGED PROPERTIES 3.5.1 Heat Aged, Cover Only (ISO 188/ASTM D 573, 168 h at 125 +/- 2 C) Hardness Change 0 to + 10 pts Tensile Strength Change, max - 10% Elongation at Break Change, max - 40% Modulus at 100% Elonga

Hose assemblies must withstand a minimum pull of 250N (clamps applied) or 1.1 kN (Crimped fittings) without the couplings separating from the hose or rupturing of the hose. Size A Size B Size C

19、 3.6.4 Hot Oil Pressure, min, 10 MPa 8 MPa 6 MPa (ISO 1402/ASTM D 380 / SAE J 1019) Fill a hose assembly with currently approved transmission fluid depending on application, cap one end and attach a valve with a suitable connector to the other end and heat for 2 h at 150 C in a forced air circulatio

20、n oven. At the end of the heating period, remove the assembly from the oven and attach via the connector to the burst test stand apparatus and immediately burst per para 3.6.1. Total test time should not exceed 5 minutes in order to minimize a loss in oil temperature. The pressure may be applied hyd

21、rostatically. Alternatively, crimp appropriate fittings to hose, heat to 150 C by circulating heated fluid for 5 minutes after the oil reaches 150 C. 3.6.5 Resistance to Kinking Insert required length of hose on test fixture securing each end with metal clamps. When installing hose, it shall be bent

22、 within 5 s in the same plane and direction as its free state curvature. Place fixture in an oven at 120 +/- 2 C for 1h. Remove fixture from oven and within 5 min, pass a steel ball of specified diameter through hose installed on fixture. Ball must pass freely. (See Figure 1) I.D. Typical Range Mm T

24、l aging/Cold Soak No breaks or cracks (ISO 4372/ASTM D 380/SAE J 1019) Hose assembly shall be filled with current production approved transmission fluid depending upon application (see para 5.1), closed at both ends and heat aged at 150 +/- 2 C for 24 h. The aged assemblies, after cooling to 23 +/-

25、2 C, shall be conditioned at - 40 +/- 1 C for 24 h. After conditioning and while in the cold box, the hose assembly shall be bent around a temperature conditioned mandrel, having a radius equal to the minimum bend radius of 8X the I.D. Flexing shall be accomplished within 4 s. 3.6.7 Accelerated Impu

26、lse Test (ISO 6803/Refer to SAE J 1532 and J 343 Guidelines for hose installation, bend radius, fluid re-circulation and pressure profile.) Hose assemblies and/or uncoupled hose, where applicable shall be preconditioned by circulating with current production approved transmission fluid depending upo

27、n application (see para 5.1), and heat aged at 150 +/- 2 C for 70 h prior to impulse testing. For initial qualification, the aged hose assemblies must withstand 1,000,000 impulse cycles at a test pressure of 1.1 MPa without hose failure or leakage. Hose assemblies removed from test stand and burst p

28、ressure of the hose tested shall not be less than 6.2 MPa. Periodic certification testing thereafter shall require aged assemblies to withstand 100,000 impulse cycles at a test pressure of 1.1 MPa without failure while maintaining temperatures of transmission fluid at 150 C and the ambient air chamb

29、er at 125 C. Burst strength values from hose assemblies after completion of 100,000 impulse cycles shall not be less than 6.2 MPa. 33、ion pressure of 0.35 to 0.69 MPa. There shall be no evidence of leaking during the test. At the end of the exposure period, bend the hose around a mandrel 8X the nominal O.D. of hose. The cover shall show no visual evidence of cracking or loss of adhesion. There shall be no evidence of leaking when

34、the hose is proof pressure tested at 3 MPa at room temperature. 3.6.12 Installation Effort, max Reinforced Hose Size A 120 N Size B 120 N Size C 120 N Tests must be completed satisfactorily with initial production parts for PPAP approval. Parts must be retested whenever any change is made which may

35、affect part installation effort. Test Method: Cut hose to 41 +/- 2.5 mm length. Manually install hose on the test fixture without the application of a lubricant. 38、re, Temperature Cycling Hoses are mounted in a pressure temperature cycling test machine using standard end form defined in section 3.6.12. The test has 15 total cycles each cycle consisting of one hour at 125 C with 20 psi pressure applied, followed by one hour at - 40C with pressure cycling from 2

39、00 psi for 15 seconds to atmospheric pressure for 5 seconds. (Hose must have no visible leaks and no breaks or cracks after completing 15 cycles (check for leaks using an ultraviolet light source and an U.V. sensitive dye in the oil). Pressure is applied to the hose using a hydrostatic burst chamber. (R

41、efer to ASTM D380 and note limitations i.e. method to controlling pressure build up, and/or equipment which uses manual controls). Size A Size B Size C 3.1 MPa 3.1 MPa 3.1 MPa 3.7 HOSE IDENTIFICATION For Transmission Oil Hose applications the word “TRANSMISSION FLUID” shall appear on the outer cover

42、 of the hose. The “printing” shall appear in permanent contrasting color and repeated at intervals of 60 mm or less. The hose shall be further identified as follows: a) Supplier identification code. b) Date of manufacture and plant designation if the supplier has more than one plant producing hoses

43、to this specification. The following code format is recommended but not required: G = Plant Designation 2 = Year (single digit) 01 = Week (2-digit number) c) Ford trademark on hoses longer than 150 mm d) The printing shall be clearly and legibly printed letter of 3.2 - 6 mm in height and proportiona

44、te width. When the hose is less than 80 mm long, the width of the letter may be reduced to 3 mm. 4.
