2、PE The material and construction defined by this specification is a low pressure hydraulic hose composed of a chlorosulfonated polyethylene or chlorinated polyethylene tube and cover (CSM/CPE) separated by one or more plies of braided polyester reinforcement. 2. APPLICATION This specification was re

3、leased originally for material used as coupled engine oil cooler hose assemblies. Hose assemblies shall be suited for 1.7 MPa (250 psi) sustained working pressure. The hose shall be designed to operate through a temperature range of -40 to +150 C oil temperatures and an ambient air temperature of -4

4、0 to +125 with occasional excursions to +135 C. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 HOSE CONSTRUCTION The hoses shall have a smooth b

5、ore synthetic elastomer inner tube free of visible particulates or other debris. The tube is to be heat and oil resistant. The reinforcement is be one or more plies of braided synthetic fabric imbedded in and bonded between tube and cover and free of knots or other defects. The cover is to be a heat

6、, oil, ozone, and abrasion resistant synthetic elastomer. The cover shall be non-blooming and black in color. 7、RIAL TESTING Unless otherwise specified, the following tests shall be performed on specimens cut from the finished hose where required. Test specimens are to be prepared by mechanically separating the hose constituents using a “band-knife splitter“ (preferred) or similar equipment. Alternatively, tr

8、aditional stripping and buffing techniques may also be used. However, different methods of preparation may not yield comparable results. Therefore, whatever method is selected, it should be applied consistently. When not feasible to use actual hose, specimens cut from molded test slabs manufactured

9、from the same material with an equivalent cure process shall be used. The test slabs shall be 150 X 150 mm, minimum X 2.0 +/- 0.2 mm. The separated hose constituents or test slabs shall be die-cut using the appropriate ISO/ASTM specimen preparation dies described in the methods referenced. ENGINEERI

13、CE TESTS ON FINISHED HOSE ASSEMBLY 3.9.1 Proof Pressure Test (Coupled Hose) (ISO 1817/ASTM D 380/SAE J 1019) No leakage as evidence by the appearance of a bead of water when hydrostatically evaluated at 3 MPa for 5 minutes. 3.9.2 Burst Pressure at 23 C 16.0 MPa (Coupled Hose), min (ISO 1402/ ASTM D

15、e with a suitable connector to the other end and heat for 2 hours at 150 C in a forced air circulation oven. At the end of the heating period, remove the assembly from the oven and attached via the connector to the burst test stand apparatus and immediately burst per para 3.9.2. Total test time shou

16、ld not exceed 5 minutes in order to minimize a loss in oil temperature. The pressure may be applied hydrostatically. 3.9.4 Tensile Load Test (Coupled Hose), min 3.3 kN (ASTM D 380/SAE J 1019) The coupled hose assembly shall be able to withstand the specified load without rupturing or the hose pullin

17、g out of the crimped fittings while applying an axial load at 25 mm/minute. 3.9.5 Vacuum Collapse (ISO 7233/ ASTM D 380/SAE J 1019) Shall pass a steel ball one-half the nominal inside diameter of a 300 mm length of hose after full immersion in IRM 903 reference oil for 70 h at 150 C. At the end of t

18、he exposure period, the hose shall be drained of oil, blocked on one end, and a vacuum of -88 kPa maintained for 15 - 30 seconds. With the vacuum applied, the ball shall roll freely along the length of hose when the hose is allowed to remain in its natural curved position. 3.9.6 Low Temperature Flex

19、ibility (ISO 4672/ ASTM D 380/ SAE J 1019) For hoses less than 50 mm I.D., condition an appropriate length of hose 24 h at -40 C in its natural curved position. Without removing from the cold chamber and using temperature conditioned cloth gloves, bend the hose 180 around a temperature conditioned m

20、andrel having a diameter 8X the hose O.D. within 8 to 12 seconds. For hoses greater than 50 mm I.D., bend 90 around a mandrel having a diameter 8X the I.D. No cracking of the cover or tube shall occur. Note: Inspect tube I.D. by splitting the hose lengthwise after it returns to room temperature. 3.9

21、.7 Ozone Resistance (ISO 7326/ASTM D 380) No cracking or crazing of the cover shall be evident when examined at 2X magnification. 3.9.8 Adhesion, min 1.4 kN/m (ISO 8033/ASTM D 413, Strip Method, Type A tube and cover to reinforcement) ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION WSS-M96D44-A Printed copies ar

There shall be no evidenc

23、e of leaking during the test. At the end of the exposure period, bend the hose around a mandrel 8X the nominal O.D. of hose. The cover shall show no evidence of cracking or loss of adhesion. Retest leak testing per para 3.9.1. There shall be no evidence of leaking at 3 MPa. 3.9.10 Accelerated Impuls

24、e Test in Currently Approved Engine Oil at 150 C and an Ambient Air Temperature of 125 C (ISO 6803/Refer to SAE J343 Guidelines for hose installation, fluid recirculation, and pressure profile) For initial qualification the hose assemblies must withstand 250,000 impulse cycles at maximum working pre

25、ssure without showing signs of failure including cover cracking, cover loss of adhesion to reinforcement, or visible leaking of the hose or end-fitting crimp regions. Periodic certification testing thereafter shall require assemblies to withstand 100,000 impulse cycles at maximum working pressures w

26、ithout signs of failure. Impulse test conditions: Oil Temperature 150 C Ambient Air Temperature 125 C Cycle Rate 30 - 40/minute Cycle Data: Pressure Rise Time 0.20 +/- 0.02 s High Pressure Hold Time 0.65 +/- 0.02 s Pressure Drop 0.20 +/- 0.10 s Pressure Variation 0 - 1.10 MPa Fluid Currently release

27、d initial fill engine oil 3.9.11 Hot Oil Burst After 7.5 MPa Impulse, min After removal from the impulse test stand, refill the hose assembly with currently approved engine oil and retest per para 3.9.3. 3.10 HOSE IDENTIFICATION The words “Oil Cooler Hose“ shall appear on the outer cover of the hose

28、 in permanent contrasting color and repeated at intervals of 60 mm or less. The hose shall be further identified as follows: a) Supplier identification code. b) Date of manufacture and plant designation if the supplier has more than one plant producing hoses to this specification. The following code
