APPLICATION This specification is released for material which, when mixed with water, shall be a satisfactory fluid for automotive engine cooling systems which
3、 contain aluminum engine components and aluminum radiators as well as brass and ferrous components. This material is for both initial fill and service use. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard R
4、equirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 INITIAL QUALIFICATION The qualification testing will be run in three phases. The requirements of each phase, in order, must be met completely or material testing on subsequent phases will not be performed. 3.2.1 Phase I - Laboratory Material

Radiator interior must not show sufficient deposits to materially affect heat exchange rate. 3.3 CHEMICAL ANALYSIS Establish reference standard for the supplier. 3.4 BATCH ACCEPTANCE (Quality Control) TEST The tests in para 3.2.1
18、Phase I (except delete 3.2.1.7 Compatibility) will be run for acceptance at regular intervals. In addition, para 3.3 may be run at the option of Ford Motor Company. 3.5 GLYCOL TYPE The glycol used to manufacture this coolant shall be primarily monoethylene glycol (1.2 ethanediol) with no more than 1
19、5% other glycols. 3.6 The coolant supplied to this specification must not contain any nitrosamine or triethanolamine or any other compound that, in the presence of nitrate, or nitrite, nitrogen oxides, or other nitrosating substance, might produce a nitrosamine. 3.7 SERVICE COOLANT The following req
20、uirements must be met for coolant for Ford Parts and Service Division only: 3.7.1 Quality Control Supplement Specific chemical and physical properties are not specified in para 3.7, but an Engineering Quality Control Supplement will be issued to cover each approved material. The selected engineering
21、 approved source shall furnish appropriate chemical and physical properties along with the production tolerance limits that apply to the material(s) upon which approval was given. The agreed upon values and limits will be issued to Quality Control by the affected product engineering office. These va
