SCOPE The material defined by these specifications is a cerium and iron based automotive diesel fuel additive to be used in association with the fitment of diesel particulate filter after treatment systems. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released origi
4、nally for materials used for initial fill. This material is also suitable for service use. The material is intended for on-board vehicle dosing systems. 3. 7、er, max 6 (NF L 41 101/102) 3.3 COLOR The material may be dyed in accordance with supplier standard practice to a color agreed with Ford Motor Company. 3.4 VERIFICATION The affected Materials Engineering activity reserves the right to conduct verification testing. If the test results do not support
8、the originally submitted data, the supplier must re-test the product in coordination with the affected Materials Engineering activity. This re-test must be conducted and certified by a mutually agreed upon test facility. 3.5 CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES Supplier shall furnish appropriate chemica
9、l and physical properties as required on Supplement A along with the manufacturing limits that apply to the material upon which approval is requested. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of these specifications.
10、5.1 FLAMMABILITY This material represents a potential fire hazard. The Manufacturing Engineering Department or other responsible activity shall notify both the Security and Safety Units of its presence to assure that proper fire precautions are provided. The location in which it is used or stored sh
11、all be included in the notifications. 5.2 SAMPLING AND SUBMISSION OF SAMPLES (ISO 3170/3171, ASTM D 4057/D 4177) Quality Control records must be made available to Fuels and Lubricants Engineering upon request. Where applicable, the required tests shall be conducted in accordance with the most recent
12、ly approved procedures and the applicable ASTM Standards, Research Reports and Information. All tests under surveillance by ASTM must be conducted using test equipment monitored by and calibrated to the requirements of the ASTM Test Monitoring Center.
