SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a pigmented one component paint suitable for repairing first surface application to interior plastic parts. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally as a repair finish for decorative interior p

3、lastic parts. Repair paint must be used to repair paint defects or to maintain consistent appearance of surface defects repaired. All repaired areas must conform to the appropriate appearance and performance specification. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initia

4、l qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Non-Volatile Content (FLTM BI 102-01) To be established b

5、y the vendor on the initial approved production batch. Tolerance shall be +/- 3.0%. 3.4.2 Stability (6 months at 23 +/- 2 C) Shall not liver or jell upon standing and must be free from settling which is not dispersed by normal agitation. The viscosity of the material shall not increase or decrease m

6、ore than 10 s. 3.5 PREPARATION OF TEST PANELS 3.5.1 Substrate Representative production molded, formed and painted parts will be used for test sample preparation. The only exception to this will be for rigid test samples used for scuff resistance and abrasion resistance, for which a molded and paint

7、ed plaque may be used when a suitably flat section of a production part cannot be obtained. The materials used for these plaques must be the same materials as the production parts used for the other performance tests. Good adhesion is required for same color repair. Color and gloss shall match betwe

8、en the virgin coat and the repair coat of the same color. 9、the absence of oil or alkaline residues, fingerprints, dirt, moisture, and other foreign materials. The processing window for the repair coat shall be identified to ensure good adhesion properties. When, in order to meet the requirements of this specification, surface enhancements (such as flaming,

10、plasma treatment or chemical reaction(s) that change the surface chemistry) are required, they shall be specified on Engineering Documents. 3.5.3 Color Topcoat Apply sufficient color topcoat to film thickness of 12 - 15 micrometer or as required to meet the rest of the specification. 3.5.4 Drying Ti

11、me All samples should be dry to the touch within 1 to 2 minutes assuming 50 +/- 5% Relative Humidity, 23 +/- 2 C to be room normal conditions. Supplier shall define standard condition/time and submit along with product test results. 3.6 APPEARANCE 3.6.1 General The coating shall exhibit no craters,

12、pinholes, solvent popping, seediness, abnormal roughness, or excessive flow. 3.6.2 Color (FLTM BI 109-01, Visual Assessment) (SAE J1545, MA58 Three-Angle CMC) Shall match the Master Approved Sample color panel. 3.6.3 Gloss (FLTM BI 110-01, ASTM D 523) As released by Engineering: A: 20 Glossmeter, mi

15、oper preparation per para 3.5 with acceptable appearance, gloss reading, film thickness and after 72 h post cure. New technologies must be approved to all of the tests in para 3.7. 3.7.1 Film Thickness, range (ASTM B 487 or other mutually agreed Upon method) As required to meet the rest of the speci

16、fication 3.7.2 Adhesion (FLTM BI 106-01, Method D) Less than 5% paint removal with no complete diamonds removed. Six lines in each direction should make up the grid. The overall dimensions should be at least 25 mm wide by 50 mm long from the widest and longest points unless restricted by part size.

17、3.7.3 Water Resistance 24 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No blistering, softening, dulling, color change or loss of adhesion per para 3.7.2 within 30 minutes of removal from water. 3.7.4 Resistance to Abrasion, min Rating 6 (SAE J948, CS-10 wheels, 500g, 250, 500 cycles, see below) The surface shall show no evi

18、dence of wear through, and the color of the abraded area shall be acceptable in appearance according to DVO-0009-IP. Run a minimum of 250 cycles for flexible cover stock. For hard plastics, measure and report the paint film thickness of the panel. Run a min of 500 cycles. Run an additional 200 cycle

19、s for every 5-micron increment over 25 microns of paint thickness. No evidence of lifting, peeling, or excessive scuffing. 3.7.5 Resistance to Scuffing, min Rating 6 (SAE J365, 500 cycles) The surface shall show no evidence of wear through, and the color of the scuffed area shall be acceptable in ap

20、pearance according to DVO-0009-IP. No permanent parallel deformation to the surface. 3.7.6 Resistance to Cleaning Agents, max discoloration Rating 4 (FLTM BN 107-01, 10 cycles, AATCC Evaluation Procedure 2) Test Procedure: Saturate white cotton cloth with the cleaners listed. Evaluation according to

Appearance Evaluation: No evidence of cracks, no blistering, no change in appearance or other failure when compared with original unaged sample. Panels or parts exposed per para 3.7.7 shall be immersed in water

23、for 24 h per FLTM BI 104-01 and then tested for adhesion per para 3.7.2. 3.7.8 Short Term Heat, Humidity and Cold Cycle . 2 h at 82 +/- 2 C . 1 h at 20 +/- 2 C . 3 h at 45 +/- 2 C and 85 +/- 5% R.H. . 2 h at -20 +/- 2 C . 1 h at 0 +/- 2 C . 4 h at -40 +/- 2 C . 1 h at 0 +/- 2 C . 2 h at -20 +/- 2 C

26、n Procedure 1, 1240 kJ/sq m) The panel size shall be approximately 60 x 150 mm with 1/3 area protected from exposure. Duplicate panels are required, one for appearance evaluation and one for water immersion. After the color and gloss measurements, one of the weathered panels shall be subjected to th

27、e water immersion test for 24 h at 32 +/- 2 C and evaluated per para 3.7.2. For routine color approval of existing technologies programs accelerated weathering results will be used for approval until natural weathering results are available. Note: The parts tested shall be completely free from evide

28、nce of cracking, checking, blistering, and peeling. Read and report CMC delta E color change per SAE J1545. Read and report the gloss change per FLTM BI 110-01. After the color and g

30、loss measurements, one of the weathered panels shall be subjected to the water immersion test for 24 h at 32 +/- 2 C and evaluated per para 3.7.2. Evaluation: One half of the part shall be washed with a mild aqueous soap solution. No blistering, peeling, cracking, crazing, chalking or any other visi

31、ble deterioration. Read and report CMC delta E color change per SAE J1545. Read and report the gloss change per FLTM BI 110-01. Gloss change should not be greater than +0/-1. 3.7.11 Fogging (SAE J1756, 3 h at 100 C heating, 21 C cooling plate, post test conditioning 1 h and 16 h) Fog Number, min 70

33、or Pain For information only (FLTM BI 107-05) 3.7.13 Resistance to Window cleaner, min Rating 4 - 5 With Ammonia Window cleaning solution must contain at least 1% Butyl cellusolve. Test procedure: Prepare test samples by placing 2.0 ml of cleaner on the sample. A non-reactive washer may be used to c

34、ontrol the location of the cleaner on the sample. Expose the sample at room temperature for 1 h, rinse with tap water, and dry carefully with a clean paper towel; do not rub spots. Evaluate per AATCC, procedure 1. No film softening allowed. 3.7.14 Resistance to Acid Spotting, max AATCC Rating 4 - 5

35、(FLTM BI 113-02) No film softening allowed after 1 h recovery time. 36、nability (FLTM BN 112-08, ISO 105-A02/AATCC Evaluation Procedure 1) Cleanability Rating 3 3.7.17 Resistance to Suntan Lotion and Insect Rating 3 Repellent, max 24 C and 74 C for 1 h The suntan lotion must have a SPF factor of at least 30, contain Ethylhexyl p-methoxycinnamate and must be water-proof

37、. The insect repellent must have at least 20% N, N-diethyl-meta-toluamide. Place 0.25 ml of solution on the test sample using a 19 mm I.D. O-ring made of PTFE. Expose the sample at the test temperature for 1 h. Immediately remove from test temperature and wipe off the solution. Evaluate samples for

38、visual effect and rate. Rating: 1) No visual effect. 2) Repairable with no visual effect. Repair must meet the rest of the specification. 3) Spotting/Discoloration. 4) Softening or slight dissolving of top layer. 5) Blistering/delamination. 6) Coating dissolved. 3.7.18 Flexibility Required for subst

39、rates with a flexural modulus less than 450 mPa. 3.7.18.1 Room Temperature (23 +/- 2 C) Test Method: Cut 13 x 100 mm sample from plaque. Grasp sample firmly at each end, place over mandrel painted side up, and bend around mandrel 180 min. Use 25 mm mandrel. 3.7.18.2 Cold Temperature Test Method: Cut

40、 13 x 100 mm sample from plaque. Place sample, mandrel and gloves into a freezer at -30 +/- 2 C for 4 h min. Open freezer, put on gloves and grasp sample firmly at each end, place over mandrel painted side up, and bend around mandrel 180 min. Use 25 mm mandrel. No cracking of painted surface is allo
