2、NTERIOR ENVIRIOMENT QUALITY WSS-M99P2222-F2 MATERIAL ALLERGY AND DIRECT SKIN CONTACT REQUIREMENTS 1. SCOPE The purpose of this document is to establish guidelines pertaining to certain materials with regards to Odor, Fogging, the emission of Volatile Organic Carbon Compounds (VOCs) and direct skin c

3、ontact with the vehicle occupants. 2. APPLICATION WSS-M99P2222-F1 is applicable to requirements for odor, fogging, and the emission of VOCs only. WSS-M99P2222-F2 is applicable to requirements for allergy and direct skin contact testing only. The requirements established by this Standard apply to mat

4、erials only defined by this document supplied to Ford and assembled into the cabin space. They apply equally to Tier 1 Suppliers, Full Service Suppliers, Proprietary (black box), and Ford-specified items. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification is performance based and does not have

5、approved sources. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS Table 1 lists test material type and criteria for testing. Material supplier responsibilities: Shall use the Material Information Label in Appendix 1 Sampling the test material immediately after manufacturing Preferred process-material supplier

6、conditions the test specimens according to Table 1, Conditioning Period column After the 14 28 conditioning period or after manufacturing, test specimens must be placed in a new polyethylene (PE) coated aluminium bag or wrapped tightly in silicone-free aluminium foil then placed in a new PE bag for

8、t test material bagging/packaging upon delivery. Damage to the bagging/packaging of the test material is cause for rejection and the test laboratory shall request additional test material from the material supplier If the test material has not been conditioned by the material supplier: within 5 busi

9、ness days of receiving the test material, cut out test specimens according to appropriate test methods listed under paragraph 3.4 of this specification Condition test specimens according to Table 1, Conditioning Period column After the 14 28 conditioning period, test specimens must either be tested

10、immediately or placed in a new PE-coated aluminium bag or wrapped tightly in silicone-free aluminium foil then placed in a new PE bag until testing. Testing must be performed within 30 days of receiving the test material All test values are based on material conditioned for not less than 24 h prior

11、to testing in a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. 14、C concentrations as well as all other relevant parameters shall be reported and exchanged as a csv-formatted data file. Parameter values shall be separated by a comma, ASCII-Code #h2C. The decimal marker of numerical values shall be a point, ASCII-Code #h2E. Lines shall be terminated by carriage ret

15、urn, ASCII-Code #h0D. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 APPROVAL OF MATERIAL

27、S Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of

28、 the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Fa

29、ilure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.2 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved,

30、whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers

31、Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.3 REST

32、RICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers re

33、sponsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting.
