Dilution viscosity (EDS-T-7908, Ford Cup No. 4 at 20) : Add EDS-M-8716 base thinner to the undiluted paint to adjust to specified viscosity at 20. 4.2.2. Storage stability und

3、er undiluted solution (EDS-T-7963) (1) Check the paint condition after exposure to 50120 hours and subsequent exposure from room temperature to (202). (2) After storage, the paint shall be free from gel and seeding and the viscosity increase compared to the initial state shall less than 20 Sec. (3)

Dilution stability (1) Fill up the paint diluted with specified viscosity into a mass cylinder capable of 500L , and expose it at a room temperature for 72hours under sealing, and examine the condition of paint, and record the state of

After that, perform the sampling and coating on the upper area (250L ) and the lower area (250L ). There shall be no change in the appearances such as color and gloss between the upper and the lo

Film composition of steel for top coat (1) Phosphate film + EDS-M-8773 (2) Phosphate film + EDS-M-8773 + Primer surfacer (EDS-M-8740 or EDS-

7、M-8766). (3) Phosphate film + EDS-M-8773 + Primer surfacer (EDS-M-8740 or EDS-M-8766) + Top coat (EDS-M-8731 + specified Clear coat) 4.2.6. Flash-off time (1) Base coat : Expose to 4045 for about 1.5 minutes or to room temperature for about 5 minutes. (2) Clear coat : shall conform to the relevant s

Base coat : 1025W 5.1.2. Clear coat : shall conform to the relevant specification 5.2. Hiding power (EDS-

10、T-7914) 5.2.1. For 2C1B metallic & mica color, the practical hiding force shall be less than 70% of the specified maximum film thickness. 5.2.2. For 2C1B solid color, the practical hiding force on the surfacer primer film shall be less than 70% of the specified maximum film thickness. 5.2.3. Hiding

11、power with the black and white sheets shall conform to the base coat color characteristics as long as it does not affect work in the line. 5.3. Paint film composition of test piece Condition A : Phosphate film + EDS-M-8773 + Relevant primer surfacer (EDS-M-8740 or EDS-M-8766) + Top coat (EDS-M-8731

12、+ specified Clear coat) (Application by wet-on-wet). 5.4. Requirements after exposure to room temperature for 24 hours 5.4.1. Distinction of Image / Gloss (EDS-T-7907, ATI 1864 SQC S/N 620) : Distinction of image shall be more than 75 and gloss shall be more than 80, when measured under test piece c

13、ondition A with an angle of 20. 5.4.2. Adhesion (EDS-T-7910) (1) Tape : 3M #610 (2) Cutter : Use a cutter to JIS K 5400 or equivalent cutter (NT cutter A type is recommended) (3) Tape peel angle : 90 (4) Cutter angle : about 30 (5) Adhesion (Width 2mm) under test piece condition A shall be GT-0. 5.4

14、.3. Hardness (EDS-T-7948, BUCH HOLTZ durometer, 30sec) : Hardness under test piece Condition A shall be more than 77. 5.4.4. Requirements after exposure to room temperature for 72 hours 5.5.1. Humidity (EDS-T-7951) (1) Test condition : 403, 98%RH min. (2) After test under test piece Co

18、ndition A for 240 hours, there shall be no abnormalities in the film surface such as blistering, peeling-off, discoloration, etc. Blistering can be disregarded if it is minor and disappears after exposure to room temperature for 24 hours. (3) After exposure to room temperature for 24 hours, adhesion

19、 shall be less than GT-1. 5.5.2. Gasoline resistance (EDS-T-7909) (1) Unleaded gasoline (for commerce) (2) Use a 714L (12sec/Drop) of gasoline for 7 minutes. The test piece shall be set at 30 from the horizon. (3) After exposure to room temperature for 24 hours immediately following test under test

20、piece Condition A, there shall be no changes on the surface and shall be less than Rating 2. 5.5.3. Oil resistance (EDS-T-7930) (1) Humidity resistance chamber at 403, more than 98%RH for 48 hours. (2) Under test piece Condition A, there shall be Rating 0. 5.5.4. Acid resistance (EDS-T-7920) : Under

21、 test piece condition A, there shall be conform to the relevant specification for Clear coat. 5.5.5. Alkali resistance (EDS-T-7955) (1) Immerse a test piece in 0.1N NaOH at a room temperature for 7 hours. (2) Under test piece condition A, there shall be Rating 0. 5.5.6. Anti-chipping (EDS-T-7945) (1

Light polishing means that test piece is lightly cleaned by a cloth covered with #7000 compound. 5.5.9. Q.U

26、.V (EDS-T-7921) (1) UVB-313 Lamp (2) Under test piece condition A, there shall be conform to the relevant specification for Clear coat. 6. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 6.1. Sandability 6.1.1. Sanding method : Dry & moisture sanding with sand paper #600 (primer surfacer coating planes), #800 (top coating

27、planes, EDS-M-8731+specified Clear coat) 6.1.2. Test method and criterion (1) Prepare the test pieces, coated with nominal condition, for primer surfacer and top coat as follows. The film thickness and dry condition should be conducted under the specified conditions. (2) Sanding Method (3) After rem

28、oving the foreign matters on the test piece, coat with relevant top coating and dry it. (4) Criterion : No problems at sanding, no difference in gloss between the sanded surface and normal surface after top coating and no noticeable sanding marks. 30、oat) is independently applied on the electro coat (EDS-M-8773), the following requirements shall be satisfied. 6.2.1. Adhesion (EDS-T-7910): There shall be GT-0. 6.2.2. Hardness (EDS-T-7948): There shall be more than 77. 6.2.3. Cupping (EDS-T-7974): There shall be more than 4.0X . 6.2.4. Bending EDS

31、-T-7912): There shall be no abnormalities in the surface such as cracks, peeling-off etc. 6.2.5. Humidity resistance (EDS-T-7951): There shall be no abnormalities in the surface, and adhesion shall be less than GT-1. Blistering can be disregarded if it is minor and disappears after exposure exposure

32、 to room temperature for 24 hours. 6.3. Repairability When repair coating is applied once, twice, and three times with the same top coat paint (135520 minutes: effective time), the following requirements shall be satisfied. 6.3.1. There shall be no change of color between initial test piece and repa

33、ired test piece. 6.3.2. Distinction of Image / Gloss (EDS-T-7907) : Distinction of image shall be more than 75 and gloss shall be more than 80. 6.3.3. Adhesion (EDS-T-7910): There shall be GT-0. 6.3.4. Cupping (EDS-T-7974): There shall be more than 4.0X . 6.3.5. Humidity resistance (EDS-T-7951): The

34、re shall be no abnormalities in the surface, and adhesion shall be less than GT-1. Blistering can be disregarded if it is minor and disappears after exposure exposure to room temperature for 24 hours. 6.4. Circulation stability 6.4.1. With the color that was consulted in advance, perform the testing

35、 for 2 weeks in paint circulation system at laboratory similar to the line condition 6.4.2. After storage for 2 weeks, there shall be no deformation of paint or marked increase in viscosity and good workability shall be provided. 6.4.3. The appearances (color and DOL/Gloss etc.) between initial stat

36、e paint and paint after storage for 2 weeks shall conform to agreement separately. 6.5. Workability 6.5.1. Perform the comparative test with mass production color in principle. 6.5.2. Sagging limits (1) Prepare the test piece which holes( 8X ) have been punched onto the 300500X test piece coated wit

If there has no test piece satisfied with above condition, prepare the test piece which resistance impact test has performed at 2.5

38、cm intervals, with 1/2INCH500g of weight and then marking has marked at middle region with oiliness pen. (2) Apply the base coat uniformly, and remove the masking tape and set the test piece vertically for 10 minutes in order that the masking areas shall be to go down an underside, and then dry it w

39、ith specified condition. (3) Apply the test piece with uniform extrusion volume of gun when the comparative tests. (4) Criterion : Measure the film thickness at that point where the sagging occurs from hole or oiliness pen sags in the region of impact resistance test completed. This point is called

40、as the film thickness of sagging limits. (5) The test for sagging limits should perform the comparative test in principle, because that film thickness of sagging limits varies with painting method or other various conditions. 6.5.3. Pinhole limits (1) Apply the base of top coat onto the 300500X test

41、 piece coated with primer surfacer according to specified condition, and then apply the clear of top coat with specified condition and dry it under the condition equivalent to the line condition. (2) Measure the film thickness and numbers of occurred pinholes in the region of the pinhole. (3) The te

42、st for pinhole limits should perform the comparative test in principle, because that film thickness of sagging limits varies with painting method or other various conditions. 6.5.4. Over spray dust (1) Perform the coating and overspray dust to the relevant base and clear of top coat under the condit

43、ion equivalent to the line condition, and set it to the line condition, and dry it with specified condition. (2) The surface shall show no signs of cratering, loss of gloss or other surface defects. (3) The test for overspray dust should perform the comparative test in principle, because that result

44、 of test varies with painting method or other various conditions. 6.6. Cratering stability: After stirring at room temperature for 4 hours (stirring shall be conducted until 20 mm of the liquid is raised in a 1N beaker), sample the paint on the upper area and perform coating under normal conditions.

45、 When this is done, the surface shall show no signs of cratering. 6.7. Electrostatic painting performance : When observed following electrostatic painting under the condition equivalent to the line condition, the surface shall show no signs of abnormalities. 6.8. Compatibility with sealer : When app

47、EWOO Auto & Technology signs of defects and the adhesion shall be GT-0. 6.9. There shall be no factors that may adversely affect the relevant line process condition. 7. FLORIDA OUTDOOR EXPOSURE 7.1. This test is designed to confirm the quality in the case of outdoor exposure after the maker is selec

48、ted and W-O-M and Q.U.V Test results are out when developing a new material. The maker of the paint shall conduct a 24-month Florida outdoor exposure test. When the test is completed after 24 months, the test results shall be submitted. If there are no abnormalities, this shall be reported immediate

49、ly. 7.2. After Florida exposure for 24 hours under test piece condition A, the surface shall show no signs of abnormalities, such as crack and blister. 7.3. After foreign matters on the film are removed by light polishing, after passing away 24 months the gloss-retaining ratio shall be more than 80%. Here, light polishing means that test piece is lightly cleaned by a cloth covered with #7000 compound. 7.4. Very slight color change is allowed. 8. EFFECTIVE PERIOD Effective period of the
