3、ard aims at specifying the procedures and specifications for evaluating oil canning Note1)and dent resistance of side outer panel of BIW (Body In White). Note 1)Oil Canning: Momentary drop of loads due to reversed surface curvature of the panel 2. SCOPE This standard is applied to side panels of pas
4、senger cars and multi-purpose vehicles. Particulars not specified here shall follow the direction in drawings. 3. SAMPLE 3.1. In the event of any intentional deviation from the requirements of this standard or engineering change, the supplier shall inform GMDAT of them 3.2. Samples shall be composed
5、 of components and parts meeting material and dimensional requirements in drawings 3.3. Following consultation with the design engineer, however, they may be composed of parts for developmental use. 3.4. Samples shall be coated with primer or to the higher stage, and those carrying the deadener and
6、side molding as the standard option shall be equipped with them 3.5. Samples shall show no sign of flaws, deformation or scratch on the surface and be free from loads that may affect test. 4. 8、the B.I.W onto the horizontal plate. 5.2. For selection of measuring points, select the weakest points of B.I.W panel and record the position of each point in “Attachment #1” 5.3. Calibrate the displacement transducer, load cell and X-Y recorder. 5.4. Mount the loading jig to the panel loading devic
9、e and install it perpendicular to the side panel. 5.5. Install the displacement transducer perpendicular to the side panel through the center hole of the loading jig. Installation shall be such that the displacement transducer will not get disturbed by forward and backward movement of the loading ji
10、g. 5.6. Apply loads of 50N, 200N and 400N step by step. For each load, measure the elastic + plastic deformation (E + P) and plastic deformation (P) to record them on “Attachment #1”. At the same time measure the displacement and load to plot them into graph. 5.7. After completing test in “5.6”, ins
11、pect the loading point on the side panel under bright illumination and record presence of dent on Attachment #1. 5.8.
