8、ed February 2012 Page 2 of 6 Version : 4 3.2 Conditions. 3.2.1 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 3.3 Safety. This standard may involve hazardous

9、materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not propose to address all the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior

10、to use. 3.4 Documentation. Samples of components or material released to this standard shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this standard and approved by the responsible GM Department prior to the start of delivery of production level components or materials. Any change to the com

11、ponent or material, e.g., design, function, properties, manufacturing process and/or location of manufacture requires a new release of the product. It is the sole responsibility of the supplier to provide the customer, unsolicited, with documentation of any change or modification to the product/proc

12、ess, and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed to, the entire verification test shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to start of delivery of the modified or changed product. In some cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible GM department and the s

13、upplier. 4 Requirements and Procedure 4.1 Sample Preparation. Samples must be greased according to requirements in drawings. 4.2 High Temperature Exposure. The sample must meet all test requirements after exposure to 100 E for 30 minutes and cooling to room temperature in the environment chamber. 4.

14、3 Operation Check (See Figure 1). 4.3.1 All moving parts of the sample must operate freely without binding and return to the normal position. 4.3.2 When a key is inserted to the sample to . 1 = . 2 = 5 Min., . 3 =6 Min., there must be no catching. 4.4 Corrosion. The sample must meet the requirements

15、 of 4.3 (Operation check) after 72 hours of salt spray testing conducted according to EDS-T-7143. 19、2 Page 3 of 6 Version : 4 The samples that have undergone corrosion test must not be used for other tests. 4.5 Operating Efforts. Mount the sample to the vehicle or equivalent test equipment. The operating effort must meet the requirements in drawings. 4.5.1 Unlock/Lock Moment. Measure the initial o

20、perating effort and the full operating effort. 4.5.2 Insertion/withdrawal force. 4.5.3 Measure the initial operating effort and the full operating effort of the dust cover. 4.5.4 Measure the insertion and withdrawal force of the key. 4.6 Strength Test (See Figures 1 & 2). Mount the sample to the veh

21、icle or equivalent test equipment. 4.6.1 The key cylinder must show no sign of fracture or operational abnormality when a load of 100 N is applied to the operating link in the direction of Q1 & Q2. 4.6.2 The key operating link must show no sign of fracture or operational abnormality when a load of 7

22、0 N is applied to the operating link in the direction of R for 15 seconds. 4.6.3 The key cylinder must show no sign of fracture or operational abnormality when a load of 800 N is applied to the rotor in the direction of T. 4.6.4 Steering Key Cylinder Test. When rotated with the nearest mating key in

23、 the locked position, the key cylinder is must not rotate under force below 2.45 Nm. 4.7 Frost Test (See Figure 3). This test must be conducted with 10 or more samples meeting requirements of clause 4.3 (Operation check). The key must have been removed when the sample is stored in the chamber. Judgm

24、ent on the presence of operational abnormality must be made immediately upon taking the sample out of the chamber. a. The key must be inserted to the sample without deformation of the dust cover or heating of the key. b. Rotation of the key must be possible over the full operating range. c. The oper

25、ating link must operate freely after the tangential forces of maximum 100N are applied in the direction of Q1 and Q2. 4.7.1 After exposure to (-303) E for 3 hours, the sample must meet requirements of clauses a and b. 4.7.2 Immediately after exposure to (-303) E for 1 hour, mount the sample as in th

The key head must show no sign of fracture or operational abnormality when a torque of 4 Nm is applied to it. 4.9.3 Drop Test. The key must show no sign of fracture or operational abnormality when it is dropped t

31、o the concrete floor from a height of 1.0 m, 20 times. 4.9.4 Cycle Life Test. 4.9.4.1 After exposure to 85 E for 96 hours and subsequent exposure to room temperature for 2 hours, the sample must show no sign of fracture or operational abnormality. 4.9.4.2 After further exposure to (-40) E for 96 hou

32、rs and subsequent exposure to room temperature for 2 hours, the sample must show no sign of fracture or operational abnormality. 4.9.4.3 Subsequently, after 4 times of repeated exposure to (-40) E for 24 hours and subsequent exposure to 100 E for 24 hours, the sample must show no sign of fracture or
