It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW15267. PART 1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1. PURP

3、OSE This test specification determines the requirements, the test conditions and test method for the electric and physical function - and fatigue tests of relay. In part 1 of these technical delivery conditions the general requirements, which must fulfill relay, are determined. Further requirements

4、for specific types are determined in following stated parts for these technical delivery conditions. 1.1. Part 2: Relay, electro-mechanical 1.2. Part 3: Relay, electronic 2. REMARKS Samples of components or materials released to this specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements

5、 of this specification and approved by GMDAT Technical Center prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. In the event of any Intentional deviations from the requirements of this specification, it is the sole responsibility of the supplier to inform the purchaser of all such deviations. Furt

6、hermore the supplier shall submit unsolicited samples for reapproval by GMDAT Technical Center prior to commencement of delivery of deviant bulk supplies. 3. TEST SAMPLE AND TEST VOLUME If nothing else is specified, minimum 35 piece relay(20 piece for laboratory test and 15 piece for vehicle test) w

7、ith a works test certificate according to DIN 50049-2.3 are to be delivered for the initial sampling and release test according to this specification. 4. PRETREATMENT If nothing else is specified at the individual test, the tests are performed in the delivery condition at +235K and 14V0.2V without p

8、retreatment. 5. TEST PROCESS 5.1. Test is to be performed corresponding to the test diagrams in part 2, clause 2 and part 3, clause 2. The specified sequence is to be observed at testing, because otherwise it is not secured that comparable result are obtained. EDS-T-5218RELAY ELECTRO-MECHANIC AND EL

Test apparatus corresponding to the specified test method, test spec., DIN-standards etc. 6.2. Adjustable direct voltage source 0 to 16 V, with sufficient loading ca

10、pacity(carrying capacity) for the general test and determination of function values Voltage stabilization at load change from 0% to 100%: minimum 0.1% Residual control time at load change from 0% to 100% : 1 ms Residual ripple: max.30 mV 6.3. Constant-direct voltage source with corresponding current

11、 carrying capacity for the performance of fatigue test. Voltage stabilization at load change from 0% to 100%: minimum 1% Residual ripple: max. 300 mV 6.4. Direct current meter with graded range up to 100A, permissible variation 1% 6.5. Laboratory oscillograph, frequency range DC to 4 MHz RE 1 , CE 8

Stress at overload The relay switching contact must switch and guide the 2.5 fold rated(nominal) current through switching-on of coil current (closer) or switching off(disconnection) of the coil current(opener). After a time interval von 1 min over-current must be broken through opening

13、of switching contact. This overload test must be repeated 1 times in the time interval of 10 min. 14、must be still given. The contact voltage decrease must be under nominal load within the tolerance given in part 2 or part 3. 7.4. Mechanical requirements 7.4.1. Mechanical stress of housing The basic plate of the relay must be free from play and must be firmly arrested in the housing. The action of

15、an extension force at the basic plate may not result whose removal from the arresting. These requirements are valid for the temperature range of -403K to + 125 2.5K. 7.4.2. Mechanical stress of flat plugs The flat plugs must be fastened embedded in the basic plate. A force of 100N 10N which acts in

16、longitudinal axis of the flat plugs may not have negative influences on whose fastening or result deformation of the flat plugs. 7.4.3. Mechanical stress of relay holder The relay holder must be so designed that it resists to the force occurring at over-plugging and disconnection of multiple plug wi

17、thout deformation. The fastening of holder on the relay housing may not be damaged. At testing of the mechanical strength according to technical delivery condition EDS-T-5235 neither function damage nor a damage of fastening elements may result. 7.4.4. Plug junction 7.4.4.1. The multiple plug attach

18、ed on cable set must be suitable for the plug arrangement of basic plate well contacting and if necessary, provided with a arresting. So far as the plug arrangement is symmetrical, a deficient over-plugging of multiple plug must be prevented by a mechanical blocking. 7.4.4.2. By a suitable material

19、combination of relay plug and cable set-sided sleeve-type terminal it must be avoided that additionally electrochemical process occur favorably by the influence of humidity at the contact point, which cause a increase of junction resistance or the destruction of plug connection cable. The requiremen

20、ts of technical delivery condition EDS-T-5240 must be considered. 7.5. Test on water protection The tests are performable with the accompanying cable set plug connection. A water protection test must be performed according to DIN 40050, protection type IPX3 for relays attached in passenger compartme

21、nt or trunk. Relays attached in the engine compartment must correspond to the protection type IPX4 according to DIN 40050. During and after the water protection test the function of specimen must be guaranteed. The water protection test may not result a damage of the internal components, which can c

22、ause impairment of the relay function or failure for the long term. If necessary, a water outlet hole must be provided at suitable position. 7.6. Salt spray fog test The allowances of technical delivery condition EDS-T-5235 are valid. For the test of metallic components used on EDS-T-5218RELAY ELECT

Relay in visible range 1 h storing at +1202.5K For metallic components with sprayed surface a salt spray fog test according to ED

24、S-T-7143-144-Grade 4 is performed afterwards. For metallic components with metallic surface coating a salt spray fog test is performed according to EDS-T-7143-240-Grade 3 after above-mentioned temperature stress. A insignificant corrosion of the coating is permitted. 7.6.2. Relay in non-visible rang

25、e The requirements according to EDS-T-7143-240-Grade 2 or EDS-T-7143-144- Grade 4 in case of sprayed surface must be satisfied. 7.7. Fatigue test The fatigue test results in consideration of test grade registered in the component drawing. For a release test minimum 16 sample relays are required for

26、fatigue test. So far as nothing else is defined in the component drawing following determinations are valid: 7.7.1. Test voltage The test voltage is defined in following points. Switching-on and switching-off of coil voltage results with a edge steepness of 16 or for the connection to the TD/TN - si

27、gnal according to EDS-T-5103, clause 5.2.4 Input resistance 40 , input capacity 0.4 nF The respectively used input signal is specified in the component drawing. 1.2.2. Distance signal The input must be laid for a distance sensor according to EDS-T-5231. It must show a maximum source current of 2 mA

28、and must be wired with a decoupling diode. Keying ratio of sender signal: Ton/Toff = 0.5 to 2 Perception of “low“-level: 1V Perception of “high“-level: 0.8UB Frequency range: DC to 1 kHz 1.2.3. Voltage drop The measurement of voltage drop is performed on the blade terminal connections of closed switch contact with the nominal current specified in the component drawing. If the switch contact must be closed for

32、 the performance of measurement (operating contact), so the relay is to be provided with a test voltage of 14V0.2V. Following limiting values are valid at delivery: 100 mV after the fatigue test: 200 mV 1.3.2. Semiconductor The semiconductor must be in a position to provide the connected electric co

33、mponents with the necessary current in the whole operating with the necessary current in the whole operating temperature - and voltage range according to part 1, clause 7. At the nominal current specified in the component drawing the voltage drip between the input of voltage supply and the semicondu

34、ctor output may amount maximum 1.3V. If the output is operated with inductivity, so a suitable circuit measure against the cut off-voltage of inductivity is to be provided. A plus potential of switching semi-conductor output must endure a short circuit for 2s on the closed electric load without dama

35、ge. Max permissible leakage current at +235K and UB=14V0.2V: 0.1 mA. 1.4. Function values The function values specified in the component drawing must be within the tolerance in the delivery condition and after the fatigue test, if it is not specified isolatedly on the component drawing, in the test

36、voltage range from 11V-0.2V to 15V+0.2V and in the temperature range from -303K to -802.5K. 1.5. Fatigue test The specimens are treated according to part 1, clause 7.5. 1.5.1. Control signals for the fatigue test 1.5.1.1. Distance signal - or speed signal controlled relays are to be wired with prope

37、r components. If this possibility is not present, a function generator can be substitutively used, if necessary, with additional wiring. The switching on and - off of relay output must be performed by a change of signal frequency. 1.5.1.2. Time-controlled relays are activated by applying the potenti

38、al specified in the drawing to the start input. If the time lag exceeds the switching time of 1s determined in the permanent switching cycle, so the relay is to be disconnected by a potential drop at the start input. If this possibility is not provided, so the disconnection can be performed by the i

39、nterruption of operating voltage on terminal 15. At performance of static fatigue test the total time lag must run off. subsequently the relay remains disconnected for a pause of equal length like the time lag, however maximum 10 min. This operating process is to be repeated over the total test time. 1.5.1.3. Temperature controlled relays can be controlled instead of temperature transducer with a corresponding D.C. voltage from a voltage supply. The switching on and - off of relay output must be performed by a change of this control voltage level.
