PURPOSE This test specification determines the requirements, the test conditions and the test methods of electronic instruments, particularly with “Liquid Crystal Display“ (LCD)-indication for the operation in automobile. In the following they are called LCD-instruments. The requireme

4、nts for the components and functions of LCD-instruments are determined in the following additional parts to these techn. conditions of delivery: 1.1. Part 2: Indicating function 2. REMARK Samples of material released to this specification shall be tested according to this spec. and approved by GMDAT

5、 TECHNICAL CENTER prior to the commencement of this bulk supplies. In the event of any intentional deviation from the requirement of this spec., it is the sole responsibility of the supplier to submit the purchaser unsolicited the samples for reapproval by GMDAT TECHNICAL CENTER prior to the commenc

6、ement of delivery of deviant bulk supplies. 3. TEST PIECE AND NUMBER OF TEST PIECES If nothing else is specified, minimum 6 piece LCD-instruments are delivered with a manufacturers test certificate to DIN 50049-2.3 for the initial sampling and release test to this specification. 4. PRETREATMENT If n

7、othing else is specified at the single tests, the tests are performed at +235K without pretreatment in the as received condition. 5. TEST PROCEDURE The tests are performed corresponding to the test diagram in clause 13. The prescribed sequence is observed at the tests, because it is otherwise not se

8、cured that comparable results are obtained. 6. TEST EQUIPMENTS 6.1. Testing apparatus corresponding to the specified EDS-test method, test specifications and DIN-standards. 16、al conditions of delivery. 7. REQUIREMENTS 7.1. General requirements 7.1.1. Materials All materials used for the LCD-instruments must correspond to the drawing specifications and the informations in the release. 7.1.2. Marking On suitable position of LCD-instruments GMDAT-trade mark to EDS-A-0008, t

17、he manufacturing date to ON 1397. 1, the part-NO., the manufacturers symbol and at plastic part, if this is possible, the material symbol to EDS-M-0101 must be legibly and durably attached. 7.1.3. Visual-and dimensional test The instruments may not show any visible damage or defect at delivery which

18、 has an influence on the function or the appearance. Form and design must correspond to the respective drawing determination. The dimensions must lie within the tolerance ranges specified in the drawing. 7.1.4. Single component parts of instrument The parts integrated in the instrument like bulb, pr

19、inted circuit, flexible flat conductor, plug connector and wiring must correspond to the technical conditions of delivery, standards or other specifications recorded on the drawing. Electric properties 7.2.1. Operating voltage range With the supply voltages from minimum 8V to maximum 15V all indic

27、ating functions of LCD-instrument must be guaranteed. The requirements on indicating accuracy must be fulfilled from 8V for the vehicle voltage display, from 10.8V for the others. At U 15V. The warning display is static at stationary engine and connected ignition. At running engine (neighboured engi

28、ne speed signal) the warning field must blink in the 1s-cycle with a ON-OFF-ratio of 1:1. 2.8.3. Battery charge indicator The warning field of battery voltage display serves as charging control lamp except the battery voltage error-warning. An error of generator excitation is indicated corresponding

29、 to clause 2.8.2. if the voltage difference between terminal 15 and D+ amounts to 8V. If the voltage difference is 5V the warning function is switched off. 2.8.3.1 For the function test, decimal resistances 1010ohm and 101ohm are made on the connections for D+ and ground. With a voltmeter with ungro

30、unded measuring inputs the voltage difference between the connections terminal 15 and D+ is measured. The function is checked in the range 10.8V to 15V at supply voltages. 2.9. Instrument illumination The illumination of LCD-display is controllable in darkness for the travelling operation. For the t

31、est a control switch is connected to the electronic-plug-contact for terminal 58d and terminal 58. If the supply voltage is connected to the plug contact for terminal 58, for example, by a lighting switch through the terminals 30 and 58, the illuminous density must be controlled from 30% to 100%. At

32、 lighting switch-position off, the illumination remains connected to maximum illuminous density. The illumination should be shifted to maximum brightness, if the warning for oil pressure or cooling water temperature is indicated. If the distance travelled is indicated by mechanical counter, the indi

33、cating field is illuminated with always same brightness. 2.10. Control lamp The control lamps must correspond to the drawing in the arrangement, design and colour. The electric functions are checked with the running connection wiring of instrument according to possible equipment. The control lamps a

34、re individually switched in. An exception is made by the control lamp of hazard warning light. This flashes only at simultaneous operation of turn signal flasher light and left. Besides the control lamp of brake system must flash at ignition “On“ and stationary engine. 2.11. All control lamps and lamps must be easily exchangeable without auxiliary agent
