PURPOSE This standard aims at determining the burst and bending force of the outer side of the bent portion when the door impact beam used by GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology Company (hereinafter referred to as the “GMDAT“) is bent. 2. SCOPE This sta
3、ndard specifies the bending test method of the door impact beam used by GMDAT. 3. DEFINITION OF TERMS 3.1. Pressing device “A“ in Fig 1, it presses the fixed test piece. 3.2. Clamp It fixes the test piece. 3.3. Roller “B“ in Fig 1, it moves the test piece. 3.4. Support “C“ in Fig 1, it shall be able
4、 to move along the test piece when it is bent. 3.5. Fixture “D“ in Fig 1, it fixes the test piece. Fig 1. 5、sition of pressing device. 4. TEST PIECE AND JIG 4.1. Test piece 4.1.1. Test pieces shall be made 200mm longer than the specified test specimen size by 200mm. Unless specified otherwise, unnecessary deformation or heating of the test piece shall be avoided. 4.1.2. At least 3 test pieces shall be tes
6、ted for initial approval and at least one for incoming inspection shall be tested. 4.2. Jig 4.2.1. The pressing jig shall be a hemispherical type with diameter of 305mm. 4.2.2. The roller, which supports the test piece, shall be a circular type and able to rotate. 4.2.3. The support, which supports
7、the test piece, shall be able to move. 4.2.4. Pressing depth with the pressing device shall be normally 150mm and max. 200mm. 4.2.5. The test piece shall be made 200mm longer than the pipe portion of door impact beam. 5. TEST PROCEDURES 5.1. Test shall be conducted with capacity of 10 - 50 ton UTM.
8、5.2. Set the distance between test piece supporting points to the test piece roller center. 5.3. Set the mid point between test piece supporting points to correspond to the pressing device center. 5.4. After putting the test piece onto the jig, fix it with clamps. (Fig 1) 5.5. Then (stress) = F(forc
9、e) / A(cross section area) and make =F conduct test at a speed of 10 - 20mm/min. 5.6. As test proceeds, load-to displacement of bending length curve is graphically plotted. 6. EVALUATION After removing the test piece from the bending tester, examine bursting of the outer side of the bent portion and other defects. After measuring loads according to bending length change up to 150mm by 10mm unit and get the bending force on the average. 8. RELATED STANDARDS EDS-T-7155 Metallic Material Bending Test Method
