PURPOSE The purpose of this standard is to determine the impact resistance of plastic components by applying the impact to them under specified conditions. This test shall be applied for plastic components whi

3、ch are likely to be subject to impact stresses when equipped with a vehicle. 2. SCOPE This standard shall be applied to the test method for determination of impact resistance of plastic components. 3. TEST PIECES 3.1. The test piece shall be finished parts. If there is no special specification, then

4、 for sample approval at least 3 test pieces shall be tested. And for routine quality control, at least 1 test piece shall be tested. 3.2. Sample of components or material released to this specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this specification and approved by GMDAT T

5、ECHNICAL CENTER prior to comments of delivery of bulk supplies. 3.3. In the event of any intentional deviation for the requirements of this specification it is the sole, responsibility of the supplier to inform the purchaser of all such deviation. Furthermore the supplier shall submit unsolicited sa

6、mples for reapproval by GMDAT TECHNICAL CENTER prior to comments of delivery of bulk supplies. 3.4. Deviation from the requirements of this test method (e.g. test piece conditioning, technical data of test apparatus, time and temperature of test) shall have been agreed upon: Those requirements shall

7、 be specified on component drawings, etc. and shall be defined in test reports, etc. 4. CONDITIONING The test pieces shall be maintained for at least 16 hours at a temperature of 21 to 25and a relative humidity of 44 to 56%. 5. APPARATUS 5.1. Apparatus A - Drop ball type impact testing machine The t

8、esting device which an ball drops from a predetermined height so as to produce the specified impact energy by free falling the ball onto the test piece. 5.2. Apparatus B - Pendulum type impact testing machine A pendulum type impact testing machine which an impact hammer, suspended on a pendulum of s

9、pecified length, drops from a predetermined height so as to produce the specified impact energy on the test piece. 10、mmer The impact hammer shall have the following dimensions: Diameter: (501) mm Radius: (251) mm Mass: (5101) g A metal ball having a weight of 510 g is also permitted as substitute for the hammer. 5.4. Test piece supports Test piece supports shall be provided such that test pieces may be securely fa

11、stened so as to as similarly as possible with real equipped state and to ensure that the impact will strike at right angles to any designated spot on the surface. The supports shall be rigid enough to ensure that the impact force is totally absorbed by the test piece. 5.5. Low temperature chamber It

12、 shall be capable of maintaining down to -40. 6. TESTING CONDITIONS The test may be performed under any of the following test conditions. Such conditions will be stipulated on the relevant drawings, material specifications etc. 6.1. Coding 1: Test at the common temperature (+23) after aging. The agi

13、ng period and the temperature condition shall be indicated respectively as X and Y on the relevant drawings, material specifications. 6.2. Coding 2: Test at a room temperature. 6.3. Coding 3: After maintaining the plastic component for 4 hours at a temperature of -30, test immediately after removal

14、from the chamber. 7. PROCEDURE 7.1. The test piece shall be fastened to the test piece support, and the test piece and the support shall be maintained under the test conditions as specified in clause 6. 7.2. The contact surface shall be at right angles to the direction of movement of the impact hamm

15、er. 7.3. The impact hammer shall be lifted to the position specified and dropped on the test pieces. 7.4. Be sure not to impact on the same test point repeatedly which was impacted once. If energy is given in the specification or drawing, calculate the drop height according to this equation

After completion of test, the component shall show no breakage or cracks. 10.
