3、ndard specifies the test method for measuring the rate of oxidation resistance of brake fluid used in oil pressure brake of automobiles. 1.2 Applicability. This standard applies to the measuring and the reduction of damage of brake damage resulted from the oxidation of non-mineral oil brake fluid an

Use a analytical reagent grade with a purity of 96%. However, reagents with a grey brown color or those with a purity unde
8、r 90 % shall be discarded. Here, measure the rate of reaction per the method prescribed in ASTM E 298-68 (STD Methods for Assay of Organic Peroxide). 3.1.4 Corrosion Test Pieces. Prepare two sets of metal test pieces of cast iron and aluminum specified in SAE J 1703b. 3.1.5 Tin Foil. Apply four new
9、strips tin foil with about 12 mm2 in area and 0.02 ) 0.06 mm in thickness. Here, the tin foil having a purity of 99.9 % and lead not more than 0.005 % shall be used. 3.1.6 SBR WC Cup. The storage period of SBR WC cup in accordance with SAE J 1703b (Styrene-Butadine Rubber) shall not be longer than 6
10、 months from the date of manufacturing at 30 E , and 36 months at (-15) E . However, in the case of a cup which has been frozen, use it after leaving it for minimum 12 hours at the room temperature on the plane surface. 3.1.7 Screw and Nut. Prepare two made of wrought iron without coating treatment
11、and smeared oil. 4 Procedures 4.1 Conditions. 4.1.1 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.1.2 Pretreatment. 4.1.2.1 Corrosion Test Pieces. 4.1.2.1.
12、1 Weigh the two test pieces sets of test pieces of aluminum and cast iron separately to 0.1 mg. 4.1.2.1 2 Put the tin foils on each test piece, and combine them together. 4.1.2.2 Mixed Fluid for Testing. 4.1.2.2.1 Fill a test tube (20175 mm) with brake fluid of (301) ml. 4.1.2.2.2 In case of a DOT3
13、(department of transportation) and DOT4 brake fluid, mix with benzoyl peroxide of (0.0600.002) g and distilled water of (1.500.05) ml. However, humidified test liquid shall be used, but only benzoyl peroxide in the case of DOT5 brake fluid. 4.1.2.2.3 Shake the test tube loosely plugged with a clean
